Over a year ago I committed a whopping $250 to this game, and have so far been largely disappointed with what has been handed to me, by a company of people known for producing some of the greatest and smoothest running RTS games around. I was happy with the great art style and it was executed brilliantly, I only wish the programming wasn't lacking that same attention and didn't run like someone's first project made in Java. I also haven't seen *any* of anything that was included with my Cosmic Edition order, except for the actual game. That means I have not seen the statues, T-shirt, game box, art books, different commanders or the planet names I put forward. Therefore I am extremely disappointed, and want to cancel my order and have a full refund so I can throw my money away at more competent developers who can actually deliver. If anyone can point me where to go so that I may do this (I checked my Profile on the Uber Store but there is nothing there that helps me.) I will be very grateful. Thanks.
Wouldn't you rather they focus on finishing the actual game first, and deal with these after that's done? That said: Statues: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/reaper-minis-are-a-thing.62733/ T-shirts: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/...t-shirts-are-a-thing-that-is-happening.62504/ I dunno about the other things.
Should it take an experienced team of developers who created the likes of SupCom over a year to make sure their game actually works? I'd also expect them to actually live up to their claims of when items would be received when I made the order.
Right you got no clue how game making works dude! what they accomplised in a year is rarely done! And soon new servers will be introduced which should increase performance, the servers are the draw back at this very moment. You really have no right to say they did not deliver anything!
Then I'm sorry you spent so much on a game in development while knowing so little about game development. What claims were made about when items would be received? Because if there's a concrete promise, that's different.
I've been in this industry for a long time and let me tell you, after well over a years work, it should be well noted by now how buggy and in need of optimisation and fixing the game is. What they accomplished in a year is sat around sucking up our cash and laughing their way to the bank. When I order something I expect it to arrive when it's supposed to, and be what I ordered. I excused the game when it was Alpha, besides how confusing it was to see the problems there was coming from a group of distinguished developers. When a game gets updated and the updates just make things *worse*, that's usually the time when an investor pulls out the funding plug. As this is partially crowd-funded, I think I have the right to retract my investments when I'm not happy with the way things are going.
I'd be curious about your credentials in the "industry". Regarding: They have just recently posted the progress on the miniatures and t-shirts, so those should coming quite soon (they have never provided a date for when these will be done). The game box and art books would be coming with the t-shirt and miniatures for those that ordered that tier (as far as I know, that's what they said in the kickstarter). As for the "different commanders", which are you referring to that you don't have access to? As far as I'm aware all the extra commanders are in the game (I guess minus the calyx?). Regarding planet names, there appear to be approximately 1700 names submitted (just going off what was in the kickstarter, not even counting other preorders) so that would mean you would have to have generated 1700 planets and hope for no duplicates before exhausting the pool of planet names. At least I'm pretty sure that's how it would work, correct me if I'm wrong.
Well, first of all, yeah it's crowd-funded, so there's no publisher pressuring them to release. It means they can take their time, and I think a lot of people appreciate this over the alternative. We've seen all too well what can happen then (SimCity anyone?). Secondly, how is the game worse exactly? And what part of the game? I'd like for you to be more specific and/or more concrete.
Your postings a glaring example of someone who apparently has no idea whatsoever he is talking about. Do you know how many years Supreme Commander took to develop? Do you know how much it cost? Do you know those numbers for PA? Do you know what Kickstarter is? Do you know anything about software development at all? Anyway, even if you're glaring ignorant Uber has a nice customer support, read here: http://support.uberent.com/ Though you should know that funding on kickstarter is not the same as preordering a game and therefore you are not guaranteed to get your money back. It would be a pure "we're nice" thing of Uber to pay you back.
I purchased through Uber, not Kickstarter. I did that specifically so that if the game *did* fall on its knees, I would have a more solid chance of getting my money back. Not to say the game has fallen, as it's a brilliant game that has been sorely needed since the days of SupCom:FA - I am just really unhappy with the "progress" and I'm not seeing where my money has gone into, when at this stage, I should be.
In any case, being so experienced in the industry, you should know refunds aren't processed in an open forum. So why are you posting this here again? This is not the way to troubleshoot performance issues. Again, you should know this.
@tanksy: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/the-inventory-thread.58084/ You may want to check that thread out, as you stated that you didn't get any commanders. And report here for performance issues: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/how-to-report-issues-where-the-game-is-running-slow.60973/ As @cola_colin and @Imsvale stated, this game has a LONG way to go before it is finished. I actually enjoy how the developers are progressing on the game. Every update feels like the start of a new day, even if it has bugs.
We have always said the physical goods will ship after the game is complete. We are a digital company primarily, and the world of manufactured goods moves slowly. We did, however, send out two kickstarter updates (and we re-posted here, Facebook etc) and the current status of some of the physical items. https://www.kickstarter.com/project...nihilation-a-next-generation-rts/posts/945464 and https://www.kickstarter.com/project...nihilation-a-next-generation-rts/posts/936730 Generally speaking, if you want to discuss a support issue, please contact us at support@uberent.com, but per the policy on our store, there are no refunds on games, in particular ones that have already been activated and played. All the rest is coming, and we try and broadcast the status of that information as broadly as we can.
The physical goods are yet to be produced. Physical goods come after the game is finished. Why would you want them to make physical goods for a game that's not complete? We've seen previews of some of the goods – so they are coming. They're just to come after the game is released.
The thing about the commanders is, EVERYONE has all the different commanders right now. I play with my friend who just purchased over steam and we have the exact same commanders available. @Imsvale; Posting over the support board because there's not exactly a handy "cancel" button on the order, and I needed to ask where it was. @garat ; And what of the items that I ordered that I don't yet have? The game is released, it's out there - available to buy by anyone and everyone. You can slap a beta logo on it all you want, it's still there - released. As I was informed after buying the game and already previously asking when my items would arrive, that was due after the game was released, no? It's released now. Where's my money's worth? Unless you've hidden a statement saying that I can in no way cancel an order before the order is even ready or sent out, then I am completely entitled to cancelling my order - and as there's nothing stating there's a charge for cancelling - that means there's only one remaining option for my money. If that's 100% truly not possible, then consider my order as having missing items and just give me back the moneys worth of the items that are missing, and the game can remain happily non-refundable.
Please take this to support@uberent.com. Locking this thread. This is not an appropriate use of the support forum for technical issues.
