Is this bug solved now ? I reported it in september and the problem is still there. No mouse cursor in fullscreen. When changing to window, the cursor is there. Any idea ?
No, it's still here: PA#2098. But it's AMD driver bug, so it's might be not as easy to fix. If you still using computer with AMD HD5XXX you can upgrade to Windows 7 and bug will gone because only legacy (HD 2XXX, 3XXX 4XXX) and Vista (for all GPUs) drivers is affected. I sure you can help devs a lot if you can try to use my script: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/windows-only-play-in-fullscreen-easy-how-to.50012/ And say if it's have same problem or not.
I tryed your script in Vista64 and in "fullscreen" the lower edge of the display is cut. About half of the factory menu. Mouse cursor is there, but thats not a solution for me. AMDs last driver update for HD 5870 for Vista 64 was in dec 13, and it looks like they stop support. Yesterday i checked alternative grafic cards, but there is nothing worth to change. The 5870 is a good card and if this means to stop playing PA, or pay 400 Euro for a new one, then i will stop here. Change my system to Win7 / 8 is no option !! Since the last build i get a lot of crashes (planet disapears, etc.), the normal probs cause of driver probs.
You shouldn't think about buying new GPU because at moment there won't be cursor on Vista on any of them; even Nvidia one. Then if you're skilled enough you can run game on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04 as example), but there is other game-breaking bug with UI crashes, but this will be fixed eventually.
I did run Win2K for nearly 10 years, without any problems and changed to vista 64 for some reason. I dont have the equipment for Win8 (cause this would mean to buy a new display, then i guess win8 will work as it should be), Win7 is nothing better as Vista64, just Microsoft decided to bring out another system to make more money. I never used WinXp or Win98, cause Win2k did all i wanted, just every one decided not to support it anymore but XP. Same now with Vista ... Linux is not an option and wasnt it for the past 20 years. (i worked with unix long time ago)
