I finally broke and played the game over the weekend, and **** me if it isn't one of the top 5 games I've ever played, easily. No amount of YouTube-watching can prepare you for the reality of this game. I can finally understand all the whining against the space layer (and even the orbital layer) that I've encountered among players. I still believe more units/structures/layers/etc. should be added to the game over time, but yeah, the amount of stuff already in there is enough to keep even the best of players occupied for months at the very least without the need of a single addition, really.

So to express my gratitude to Uber and to do my bit to help keep the game alive and growing, I thought we'd have a thread where people come in and report whenever they do something to spread the word of its awesomeness, and increase Uber's cashflow.

So far, I have bought both the retail Early Access version, and the Steam version, which I am playing, profile here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/icycalm/

I also got 4 of my friends to join, one of whom was a KS backer, and 3 of whom bought the game this weekend specifically on my recommendation. Here's the 3 new players:

    http://steamcommunity.com/id/Masahiro9891
    http://steamcommunity.com/id/qpo
    http://steamcommunity.com/id/recoil345

And PA is featured on our Steam group page (which I basically just started mainly due to PA):

    http://steamcommunity.com/groups/vgculture

Then, PA is at the top of my "Most Wanted" list, on the sidebar of the frontpage of my videogame criticism and theory site: http://culture.vg/

That's all I got for now. Future moves include buying all the extra commanders in the armory (and telling all my friends to buy as many of them as they can), and pestering even more people who subscribe to my site to buy the game and join our burgeoning little clan (which I'd also like to get featured on PA Matches at some point).

I will keep reporting back to this thread whenever I have news. Hopefully others will do too, and we'll make an appreciable difference to the financial health and future of the game.

I bought the game. And I'm kinda active on the forums and write a bugtracker entry every now and then. Oh, and I bought one custom commander. I think that's enough, and probably more than what 90% of the playerbase is doing.

Don't get me wrong: I think everyone appreciates highly active and enthusiastic members. Some of them create amazing things - fanpages, wikis, tutorials, let's plays etc. But it's unreasonable to try to rally the majority of average users to go above and beyond for the game. Players buy it, developers make sure it runs decently, period. A good product (coupled with some marketing) can be enough to ensure "financial health and the future of the game".

That being said, keep being awesome. But don't burn out at some point at have your enthusiasm make a 180 and turn into bitterness and regret; I've seen that often enough from power users in other games.

I think a lot of us have done things that hgelp Uber, either directly or indirectly. Shwyx is right that expecting more from people than just playing isn't really the right way to go, but even that benefits the gfame. A strong community that knows every detail about this game and welcomes new players is the best thing we can have. Not every player has the time or knowledge to make mods or record videos, but I'm sure that can help the communitty too.

I convinced Uber to switch from PHP to Xenforo for the forum.

Also convinced them to change galactic view and planetary view into a single view you navigate with zoom.

may have been responsible for icons being redone (even though they were likely planned on being changed anyways)

If ever Uber scales down all units to props that will be thanks to me.

If ever Uber make gates neutral structures, was my idea.

If ever Uber make units that use Astreaus climb into the rocket first rather then launch it and have the capsule come back down, also my idea.

I made a big forum poll that told uber what their community wanted.

I also made two complete guides : Howto PTE and Howto play mods (the howto play mods was the only place you could find a less then a day-old update on which mods worked for the current build)

I reported a slew of bugs on the bugtracker and made the bugtracker more widely known of.

I've advertised the game on my facebook to the point my friends are sick of it.

lastly I made a couple mods and I assured that a few more obscure ones come to the surface and the light of fame.

I come on the Forums a lot, and take pictures of Uber's awesome game :D

I'm a student or I'd spend more money on PA. Maybe when I'm feeling richer!

I backed it on KS. In fact, it was the first KS project I backed.

Now I'm making mods for it. Slowly.

I'm one of those dummies who bought the game on steam when it was £60. I could've gotten it from the Uber store and gotten way more bonus stuff. I was a bit sad for a while, but since I got 200+ hours of fun anyways, I don't mind no more. I'm still sad I missed the kickstarter though.

Anyways I bought the game, bought the Xinthar commander (awesome) and I've been posting nonsense here for longer than I'd care to admit even to myself.

But then again, the support that should be expected from an average person is to buy the game, and have fun! Anything more is just a bonus :)

I did the same, but then bought the cosmic edition as well because I needed those commanders.

I also work on quite a few mods for PA, and are VERY active on the forums.

I also try to get as many friends as possible to see the game. ;)
