?

Should a Naval version of the gate exist for naval units only?

Absolutely. Naval mobility needs to be increased and not bound to small ponds.

Yea, make invading water planets possible. Well fortified water planet is next to impossible to penetrate, with exception of planet smash, but it is not always available.

as much as i actualy hate to say it ... yes there should otherwise naval will be only usefull at a local planet ...
and yea i rather chose this over leviathans being transported by orbital units ... i mean we are speaking bout structuresized units
i´m still against air and orbital gates though ... i don´t know but some downtime for unittransit should be there imo ...

way too less ... rather t1 naval at minimum ...

Hopefully the water gate will look different as well. I picture the water teleporter to be more of like a tunnel sort of design.

Where as the ground one is the sleek sort of stargate teleport

I'd prefer the astraeus(spelling?) being able too pick up naval units. I find 'space boats' inexplicably amusing.

Even then, providing that kind of mobility to battleships is very, very powerful.

    A sheller is one gun.

Not that the sheller was hamstrung without the teleporter either, as both the air transport and orbital transport could provide for it.

But frankly, while the teleporter is cool for interplanetary stuff, I have never cared for it being used on the same planet.

That would be a cool way to defend naval.

    PS: Your sig is amazing.

    thank you, thank you :)

yeah but they are much much faster than ships much more narrow and don't have to go one at a time through a gate and not only that wut what's the issue?

most time ships are in ponds and I can't remember the last time I saw naval and land interact or naval for that matter.

I do not want to give such unit's that kind of mobility.

Maybe they should balance naval around the gate travel, instead of the other way around. Naval units are boring enough as is. Because they have to have such absurd range to be useful. Rather have more mobility for naval, and more niche units with shorter range. because they dont have to be able to shoot half a planet range into land.

    But why bother?

Why allow gates to determine the balance like that?

As interplanetary tools gates are fine, but across the same planet they shouldn't be usable.
