shellers weird model

when i think of mobile artillery, i don't think of the above model. that just looks like a tank. how bout something like this:

it could also nerd the sheller a bit by giving it a 'set up' time.
at the very least, try making the barrel nice and long and take those vent thingies off.

My favourite unit. Because AWESOME. Mobile artillery is AWESOME and needs to look more AWESOME because it's AWESOME.

toric55's suggestion reminded me of the jackhammer from supcom 2. Anyways, I like the sheller model.

I always thought it kinda looks like a light assault gun, not really like devastating mobile artillery. Not bad, just not quite fitting it's role.

Fun Fact, I designed a very similar unit(Mechanics wise) for BlackOps many years ago except I made sure there was room in the tank itself to store the gun instead of making it come up through the ground! ;p

I know what you mean, I designed the Sledgehammer to be more in line with what I feel a Mobile Artillery ahould look like;



Still similar in a lot of ways to the sheller but with much more emphasis placed on the "Artillery" aspect obviously.

Erm .. the Shellers already have the rising barrel, they just have a very wide wheelbase and those whatevertheyares on the back of the turret. I must have a decent screenshot of one that's deployed kicking around somewhere, I'll see if I can find it ...

The problem is that the barrel isn't really any longer than the Leveler's, sure it can aim high(so can the Leveler) but it just looks and acts too much like a tank.

That's pretty cool. What program do you use for your designs?

I've always used XSI|Softimage but almost any 3D Program can give similar results.

Oh man, and the explosion graphic for trebuchets was awesome.
Just 5 or 6 and you could flatten bases, I loved those things.

Agree the shellers could use a new model.
