PA needs more choices for starting modes

    So far, PA has done the deed of allowing commanders to start randomly at any planet that is preselected to be a starting world, while allowing people to change the resource modifiers. However, more still needs to be done in customisation, for more varied gameplay.

    These are my suggestions:

    1) "Localized team start location" options. Allow "Team play" modes to let commanders of different teams to be restricted to their own unique planet(s). This will allow for more synergized team play of planet vs planet etc.

    2) "No rush" options. Let's admit it. Some of us do not like to be rushed, or rather, we just have a preference for late-game play. This is what the option is for: give us a customizable option to set the no-rush grace period anywhere from 0 to 30 mins.

    3) Commander lives options. Tired of building up a 10000-strong army just to be laser-sniped by a cheapshot SXX laser platform "orbital of doom"? Give us an option to set the number of 'lives' of our commanders such that on each death, the commander reincarnates again until its lives run out.

    4) Game continues when commander dies option. Self-explanatory.

    5) Super commander option. In this mode, the commander has 5 times the base health, 100% more movement speed. Does 3 times the damage on all weapons. Uber cannon does 1 million damage per hit. This option is for those who wish to prioritize a non-rush strategy.

    6) Production boost option. This increases or decreases the speed of production. Want to build 1000 Vanguards fast? This is for you. Want a longer, but more strategic game where every unit counts? Then set production speed to only 25% and use each unit carefully.

    7) Allow or disallow Halleys mode. Hate Halley rushes? This is for you.

    8) Allow or disallow delete units mode. Sick and tired of that crank who tries to be funny by deleting your commander? Turn this on. Problem solved.

    9) Allow defeated players to chat or be muted when they are defeated. Sick of that sore loser who reveals your base's weakness after being defeated? This is for you.

    10) Allow or disallow nukes. Enough said.

    11) Cheap nukes option. Turning this on makes nukes production 100% faster, and cost only 50%. For those who think that nukes are too easily countered by way-cheaper anti-nukes defences.

    12) Type of line of sight option: Permanent, real, or circular line of sight.

    13) Reveal map: on or off.

    14) Ban units mode: fully customizable. Want pure Dox wars? Untick all other units, and let only Doxes be built. Think Vanguards are too OP? Untick it.

    15) Kick player vote on or off: Is someone being a jerk in the game? Turn this on and vote him out.

    16) Deathmatch mode: Start with infinite resources.

    17) Strategic mode: Start with X amounts of metal, and Y amounts of energy. Metal extractors and energy plants may not be built.

    18) Titan mode: All units and structures have 4x HP.

    19) Realism mode: All units and structures now have 25% HP.

    20) Rush mode: All units are 50% faster.

    21) WTF mode: All units are now empowered; cost 25% as much, are 50% faster, build 300% faster, fire 300% as fast.

    22) Expensive Halley mode: All Halleys cost 200% more, take 200% longer to build. For those who think that Halley rushes are game-breaking on systems with a moon with only 1-Halley.

    23) Giants mode: All units and structures are scaled to 3 times their size.

    24) Mini-mode: All units and structures are scaled to 1/3 their size.

    25) Turtle mode: All structures now have 5 times their base health. All defensive structures deal 3 times their base damage, and have a 50% range boost. This is for those who prefer to play defensive.

    Having a no rush timer would be kool used to like using that in supcom heh... problem is I think the devs are aiming for a particular gameplay experience with this, as much as I would love some of the supcom features to return for PA I don't think thats quite the vision for PA even though some of those features would work superbly well for it. I have always been in favor of being able to enable/disable certain options in PA like no nukes/no air/no orbital, just to give a much more standbox style of playing, so if I wanted no other types of units except for ground units for massive land battles, I could if I wanted, or only air units. People I think would say that takes away too much of the gameplay and what PA is, but I disagree, I think it just adds to the mix to be able to have the types of matches/games/skirmishes that you want to play. Things like Titan mode, realism mode and even rush mode you mentioned would probably end up being a mod to be honest. Loved the mini mode idea that'd be kool :D

    It's a yes. I would love to have a match without nukes for once...


    Number 13:

    This definitely needs to be in there just like the Supcom series!


    Number 22:

    Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes! A Halley rush is already game-breaking with one moon containing only one Halley. This should definitely solve the issue!

    Problem is, not very many people join server modded games, and having some more in game "modes" would be nice.

    foodmode everything is turned into tasty delicius food and drinks including but not limited to bacon, bacon, bacon .... and bacon .... as well as beer and coffee ...
