What is a good starting build?

    Im really sure there are some uses for bots, i just want to see more people make more botfactorys then vehicle factorys and be able to pull out a win in a fairish match.

    Yeah bots on their own are a bit rubbish, but bots + air isn't a bad starting build.

    The problem is though, if your watching 1 v 1, 99% of games are on small planets, without trees with close spawn locations. That set-up is ideal for vehicles- so a bot start isn't a good idea, and having strong aa so close by really closes down any options with air.

    Play a FFA, or a 1 v 1 on a much larger map then fast raiding units become useful.

    But you could argue that the smaller the planet, the more likely someone will step on a landmine. Oh wait, radar covers everything aswell then. Well you got to be lucky with your boombots then i gues :)

    Buildings that make units. and economy enough to keep them making units.

    Last I checked the bot and vehicle factories are identical in build cost and run cost.

    How is all of that more helpful than getting to T2 faster. Especially considering that t2 vehicles (sheller and vanguard) are so powerful at the moment. The thing is unless you expand a LOT you won't beat the rush to t2 build at the moment.

    I still consider this an exploit that should be fixed.

    Bot roll-off time is 3 seconds, vehicle roll-off time is 4 seconds. At some point you will stop the fabber spam and be getting either dox or boombots out which have a much lower average cost compared to running a vehicle factory spamming out t1 tanks.

    Dox - 45 metal
    Time to make 1 unit - 3 seconds
    Rolloff time - 3 seconds
    Thats 1 Dox every 6 seconds at an average metal/s of 7.5

    T1 tank - 150 metal
    Time to make 1 unit - 10 seconds
    Rolloff time - 4 seconds
    Thats 1 T1 tank every 14 seconds at an average metal/s of 10.7

    Oh Sure. The units cost less metal. I was just meaning the actual factory itself. If it is run non-stop it consumes slightly more over time than the vehicle because of the roll of time.

    The factories (bot and vehicles) cost 15 metal and like 675(can't remember exact) to run. Regardless of the cost of the unit if you run it non-stop it consumes the same amount.

    They only stop for roll off correct?

    I'm just saying the only stat that matters is how long they are running for over the course of a time interval sample. Negating storage everything is streaming based. So time on is the only stat that matters.

    So I was just looking for the math on that. Lets say you take a 5 min. sample and have one bot factory pumping dox and one factory pumping vehicles. Of that 5 mins how long is each on for. If the bot is indeed on less than I would agree with you.

    4 met 1 fac 4 eng then loop build 1 fac and 4 eng and have eatch fac loop build 1 AA 1 flame 4 tank

    Why would you not go bot first? this new build is really good! u can either go bot first crack out a repair bot gain 60 + metal from reclaim, under treat u can move your metal income and u can rush what ever you want with bot first...with really no metal productin facilities. i have only played this build 2 times but to call bot first is for noobs, a non viabel strat is really dumb, the opportunities are endless i would say.

    There really are no "the best build order" You have to think about everything, every planet and every mass point. Every spawn point and every tree, every enemy and every maybe friendly, every thing and dream. You wanna become big, you wanna become everything. You want to become king and enemy. unless its a 1v1 then you have to destroy the enemy.

    In a 1v1 its just about you and the other guy you know, but in a teamgame or ffa you really have to think about everything if u wanna win.

    Like 1v1s, sure 2 facs, maybe one fac make fabs and other tanks, then make more eco and keep producing facs and units and just pressure but that might not be as good on a larger planet. then maybe you wanna build bot first then tank fac. because you get more eco and if he does indeed go 2 fac rush low eco build and u have the upper hand, if u manage to not waste eco.

    The trick in this build for any game is balancing your eco expansion and the forces needed to defend it. In a 1v1, you also need forces to attack the enemy with, which makes it even more difficult. I usually go bots or vehicle first, pop out a few scouting units, three or four engineers, and then build combat units. Tons of combat units. :p

    fac or bot fac or air fac what aver you like to do i like spamming tanks armor tank and AA tank :p but thats just me
