This technically has to do with mods but I believe since this is a literal problem in the engine that Uber should be aware of this. It seems that putting multiple weapons on a building, and then giving at least one weapon an ammo consumption (energy in this example) causes the game to crash when that unit is destroyed. I'm not sure of the specifics of it, but it seems to always happen (at least in the case of Statera).
Honestly because I want Uber to see it, not necassarily for my own uses, but also for them, it's to let Uber know of this problem in their engine. It's not like a missing engine feature that gets requested in the modding forums, it's an actual issue with the engine. Basically, if Uber implemented their own unit into the game that used the energy system like this and had multiple weapons, they'd run into the same issue. I'm against Stuart's threads, but I feel this is not only an issue with modding, but also an issue Uber could potentially face themselves. Just trying to get it seen by them, won't lie.
So your saying that because one of Mered's (relevant) modding threads in the balance sub forum was given a pass, now you should be able to get an unrelated modding post in the general discussion? And if not then it's a double standard and Mered's thread should be locked?
No not necessarily, I didn't create this thread soley for my own selfish needs, it's also to let Uber know about a problem within the engine that could potentially mess with them in the future as well. Is it entirely relevant in the general discussion? No, I'll admit that. I just feel like it's not solely an issue for modding either. I'll also say it'd probably fit better in the support forum.
I doubt that is what Squishy meant- he's always been pretty level headed and Pro-Uber. There is a point though that threads in General discussion get more attention than anywhere else (although in the case of *uber* looking at the threads I think Support or Mod would be fine, it's more the general forum members who tend to stay focused in here).
I understand that you didn't have any bad intentions, but it would have been better to skip the part about Mered. When the moderators come over and lock this thread, they may end up doing the same to Mered's because of the "if Mered can do it so should I". It just don't like the idea of one group spoiling it for others. As for your main point. If Uber gets around to doing anything like that, then they will fix it when the time comes. If not it can be added to the list of requests from the modders.
Alright then, in fact, just be a good sport, I'll go delete that bit off of my post. Even if that may make no impact later on.
