What's the set up for starting a mod? How do I then, once I have made my changes, test or finish my mod? Im not really sure where and how to begin, and id love to make a series of mini mod for different unit ideas, even just to get the creative stuff going. Thanks for your time.
Server, as im not very sure what I would do with a UI mod....but I could get around to it eventually.
Server mods are actually pretty simple. Depending on what you are modifying/adding, you'll just copy the relevant .json files from your PA install, modify them, then insert them into your server_mods folder. After that, just head to PAMM and activate it. Presto, BALANCE FIXED! *cough* UI mods are more tricky, because you are actually modifying the files in your install, and you have to understand how those work before modifying them/adding to them.
Euh no, you just need to copy the relevant material you want from PA, put them in a folder in PAMM mods folder location, edit modinfo.json and you have a local UI mod that you can enable / disable from PAMM directly.
So I got a copy of the mod info thingie from the satert mod, and copyed the PA and UI folders over to it....although now I feel like my computer is slowing down trying to run this huge mod for one simple change....
Ok so my mod like, compleatly chugs my computer. Should I like, remove all non-modded files from it? Keeping the changes, and file directory?
Ok, so I changed the leveller to have a yaw of 10, but the unit won't automatically turn to fire when it's in range. How do I correct this?
"yaw_range":10 It technically works, but the unit now has to be microed....and that wasn't my intention this time.
Indeed. Units are thick as mud and won't turn on the spot to acquire a target if they have a yaw restriction.
