Phil Collins is not heavy death metal. Please don't insult either him, Genesis or heavy metal (or death metal) by confusing the three.

In the end, it's the Russian people that matter.

Aren't we overdue for a dictator that is good to the people?

    Maybe he/she/slim/sler can replace putin....

I still doubt that can really happen. The human species is a corrupt one, something will always get in the way of benevolence.

The Roman dictators at least were good during the Roman republic.

Phil Collins was the first Heavy Death Metal band, imo. Everyone was like yeah, hell yeah. That`s Phil Collins.

I don't think the Russians are doing too well under Putin to be honest. He's very much keen on the "good ol' days" of the USSR

It was a Republic, DUDE! They weren't dictators. There was a clause that gave them the power in emergencies, and that made them the dictators. Even then, they weren't benevolent - they did what needed to be done, and in the case of Caesar, became corrupt and burned the whole thing to the ground.

There is no such thing as a benevolent mortal dictator.

I still don't see why people see the USSR as such a terrible thing.
If you look past Stalin's genocidal rampaging it actually did pretty good for itself, it threatened to dethrone the U.S.A. and take its place as superpower of the world.

They weren't exactly prosperous, but they weren't doing terrible either.

Not to mention, it was a soldier of the USSR that saved the entire goddamn planet from global thermonuclear war! Isn't that worth ANYTHING?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this thread contains a massive amount of wild speculation, even when it comes to the definition of heavy metal.

    Yes
It`s true. My sister`s kid believe in me all tho that`s not the biggest of em all, i have a memory back way back when i was taking the school bus, believe i was around 8, there was a new bus driver that day and no one told us/ warn us about it. I will never forget that day. I remember thinking: I bet that nose could fit all galaxies and that it took involuntary prisoners. Never took the bus after that.
    Sad but a true story.
