How can I share a custom system I made so that other players can host on the same map?

If your unsure about mods Shotty- what cptconindrum means is:

1: Install the PA Mod Manager (nice little tool to allow you to easily install and turn mods on / off). First link

2: Install his excellent 'system sharing' mod. That will give you access to download shared maps.

3: You'll need another small mod to publish maps to system sharing- details in the thread (2nd link).

    4: Profit!

Actually anyone can share maps to the default server. You only need an extra mod if you are an admin of one of the restricted servers.

    If only this were true!

When Uber release the mod 'platform' tools you should stand a good chance to make some profit :) You've already put out one of the most useful tools for the game- I think system sharing has been used for almost all the tournaments including Uber's ones!

@proeleert has a guide for PA Stats and System Sharing.

I will never ask anyone to pay for this mod. It is pretty simple anyway and if people had to pay for it someone else would just make a new mod that does the same thing and even connects to the same servers.

    Cool thankyou!

Nice one mate, good mod. Any chance you can delete the duplicate "Dancing Planets" map I just uploaded to the server twice :D durrrrrrrr

If anyone has any feedback on the map I made I would be happy to hear it so I can improve it :)

Don't worry about duplicates. That happens a lot but the default server is pretty crazy anyway. Generally people use the default one to quickly share something and then it gets buried in a few days once new systems come in. The mod is set up so that clans and tournament groups can run and curate their own system lists. You can usually find some higher quality systems on those other servers, but the metal distribution algorithm recently changed and many older systems are now outdated.

By the way, I'm still hoping Uber will create their own System Sharing. I don't have a good way to authenticate users so people can upload maps in someone else's name. That's also the reason why I don't allow you to delete your own maps, since you could easily hack it and delete everyone's maps.

    Haha talking about duplicates...

Anyway how easy have you found it to make mods for PA?

I am proficient at coding and would like to make a mod

Surely with the current system someone could be a tool and just swamp the server by uploading the same map 1000's of times swamping everyone elses?

PA uses Coherent UI, which is basically just a web browser sitting on top of an OpenGL layer. This means UI mods are all just Javascript, HTML, and CSS.

Yeah, but if that ever happens I can just delete those systems and then implement a better security system (and ban that IP). If I allow deletes, someone will come by and permanently erase everything.
