currently it doesnt matter if you have an army 2x the size. Mortar tanks wreck anything and everything. i managed to beat 1200+ admittedly t1 tanks with an army of 300 of t2 of which most died untill the end where i had 26 mortar tanks and in microing them destroyed 3/4 of his army with out loosing one... and in other games just a couple of mortar tanks completely invalidate any land army ( i think the criticle mass for mortars is (20 - 26 and then its just a solid wall of fire that not even vanguards can travel more than 5m through..) with their insane range damage and splash 9/10 tanks die before they are even in range of the enemies vanguard.. i know people go on about vanguards alot but i honestly think what needs to be looked at really is the mortar tank. personally i think either 1 - Lower rate of fire - same range - same damage 2 same rate of fire - less range - less damage or just massively up the energy cost per mortar reload so you are limited to the amount you can field.
no they can't... but the problem is that even a tank can't take its damage... the game is very unbalanced... probably if the damage was reduced by half we could have tanks killing thoses
Well, I don't mind that Shellers can kill and swam of tanks, it's if there is no way to easily counter those shellers that there's a problem. If snipers could shoot the shells out of the sky then maybe 26 shellers would be countered by 26 sniper bots and 26 tanks. seems fair.
Six Shellers shelling Shellers with shells as they are shelled by Shellers shelling on shelves. Say that ten times fast.
Six Shellers shelling Shellers with shells as they are shelled by Shellers shelling on shelves. Six Shellers shelling Shellers with shells as they are shelled by Shellers shelling on shelves. Six Shellers shelling Shellers with shells as they are shelled by Shellers shelling on shelves. Six Shellers shelling Shellers with shells as they are shelled by Shellers shelling on shelves. Six Shellers shelling Shellers with shells as they are shelled by Shellers shelling on shelves. Six Shellers shelling Shellers with shells as they are shelled by Shellers shelling on shelves. Copy and paste ftw! \o/
I'd say that's working as intended for now, Uber's balance feels like it's designed to create tipping points in order to end games. If you have 25 Shellers in one place, defended against air and such, you deserve to win.
Hornets? How about an equal metal cost of Vanguards? I've run them against Shellers and they did fine, but I don't know if there's some critical mass of Shellers which auto-win. Even if there is a critical mass number, is it one that's preventable through opponent action?
against the vanguards of equal metal cost then id say only maby when defending your base. as you can just have your shellers retreat and the vanguards will never get anywhere near them. Also with the hornets its obviously viable hense the title being ground combat but still its normal to have large swarms of fighters hanging around your base to send in for bomber / hornet snipes. Its just i find that even if you try and be clever with your armies. i often do pincer moves ect. if they have a handful of shellers nearby they can effectively halt any ground assault in its tracks with just a fraction of the troops. Theres currently no epic ground battles of armies of tanks slugging it out / trying to maneuver around each other to get to base targets. its just send army A in to army B watch 70% of the units die to incoming sheller fire before they even reach anything. Then the remaining 30% run into vanguards ect and are obliterated leaving just shellers.
I think Shellers just need a limitation of only firing in the direction they are facing, It'll make them far less effective if you're able to split your forces and hit them from multiple sides. It'll also negate their ability to retreat and destroy anything chasing them.
I'd also like to see shellers have to stop in order to fire, might make them a bit trickier to use than "a moving wave of destruction".
shellers. You basically have to build them cause if they have them and you don't game over for you. They can shoot while moving and are fast enough to keep up with a commander. they can shoot close or far. At least they don't have a lot of health. Between the vanguard and the sheller you are basically forced to go t2 vehicles if you are in a land war. I don't mind t2 being more powerful than t1. But you shouldn't be able to have a dozen t2 units and wipe out 200-300 unit t1 armies. At some point numbers should matter. Other wise the game basically turns into rush t2 Vehicle.
