Modders being able to create their own balance is irrelevant if no one knows how to find games with

    this balance.

Modded games are being hosted. The problem? No one is joining. No one notices the drop down and as far as they know they have no reason to. Make modded games shown by default. If people don't like it, they'll look for a way to turn it off. No one looks for a way to turn it on. If the mod scene of PA is to succeed, people need to be able to view the mods.

    Any dissenters?

I'm all for making the default setting show modded games. As long as it is clearly shown that the game is modded, so that people do not get confused. And by clearly I mean with a large bold font.

    I agree

Clicking multiplayer in the main menu should bring up another menu with 2 choices, vanilla PA or Modded PA, more choices if needed.

essentially do what starcraft is doing in regards to mod easy access

    Breh.

I think there's just not enough population interested period.
    I'm willing to wait.

Also once we get a cool flashy UI that has an 'custom games' tab front and center, there will be more people.
Granted, much of it will be some of those neat-o gametypes like boombot wars or commander is static factory or something.

I'd say don't do this at least until the ratio of modded games to non-modded games is at least 1:3.

It certainly would be really nice if modded games were visible by default.

I think it is more important to have an integrated mod system like Steam Workshop. Just subsribe / unsubscribe mods on the fly within PA. The biggest obstacle for people is not that they can't find it, it's that they first need to download a third party program, figure out how it works, before they can use mods.

Another valid reason for people not using mods is that Vanilla PA is not finished yet. Thus breaking many Mods many times giving hassle and an unpleasant experience. That is for your average users.

First point, only the person hosting the game needs to have the mod installed.

Second point, server mods rarely break when updates happen. Since the introduction of sever mods there has only been one update that broke server mods.

The first thing to do I think is to add a mod system in game. Even shows the game is modded but which mod? How do I instill this mod? Where I can find this mod? All these will be ask. So I think it show the which game is modded and can shows information if you want to read, or it will automatic download it if you join in.

I think they should be coloured differently to non modded games so you can easily tell.

I think what they need to do first is how every full game launches to the top of the list hiding all the matches that are open, pa pls
