Quite a lot of those are Anchors. Have you tried against anchors?

    I'll have a look, although I don't think it's the point.

Since it's an under 1 second time period between the astraeus arriving and leaving again, it's just borderline impossible to intercept it with whatever. Even if the anchors could kill it in time, that requires for it to arrive in their range. And since they don't move, they need to be placed to cover every square inch of every orbital space to counter this tactic. Which is just no fun.

It's literally out of orbit before the shots impact. Even Anchors need time to aim.

Solution would be, to execute acceleration/deceleration phase INSIDE orbit PRIOR to switching unit to transfer mode.

Won't help. You can land right next to an Anchor and remain unharmed.

This is the only approach I'm aware of which could solve this issue:
"Take off speed" for interplanetary transfers

EDIT - Relevant part of that other thread:
Btw.: Also solves instant SXX snipes and other similar problems with orbital transfers in a very elegant way.

    An Anchor? Try 500.

If a single Anchor can't deal any damage in the short amount of time between a unit entering the orbital shell and leaving it. What makes you think 500 Anchors will fair any better?

    Let's get back on topic.

So we know for sure that this is a game breaking exploit. The interesting question is now:
    How to get Uber's attention?

I'm pretty sure the new thread title will have some effect :p

I know for a fact Neutrino already read this thread actually.

And I had a good laugh at the title, thank you. :)

I just ended a game 2 minutes ago with someone using this exploit again :3

No way to counter it ~_~

Anyone tried spamming Umbrellas to counter this yet?

Tried nukes and 1000 Avenger spam, but failed.

Edit: Title fix: Astraeus Fetish, not Laser-Snipe. Also added some 'embellishments' to the original topic to make it sexier.

There is only ONE way to break this exploit for now: Destroy one of the two planets entirely. This results in the Com getting stuck somewhere.
If you are out of luck: Orbiting the sun where he is invulnerable again - for good this time.

Not much of a solution though, since this requires the planet to be small enough to be destroyed.

No luck for me in the last 2 games when this exploit was used - the planets that the exploiter picked were non-annihilable.

Until this exploit is fixed, the best solution is to prohibit known exploiters from reincarnating on new maps by forcing their spirits to stay in spectator mode, where they will feel the anguish of their actions by not having a body to reincarnate in to play.

Does this exploit still exist? It sure seems that way, I encountered someone who accidentally sent his commander to one of my planets, where upon arrival he was met with a hundred or so Avengers. He seemingly instantly got away by setting a new course.

As long as it's possible to get in a couple of shots it's ok. And I can't confirm whether or not that was possible - my orbital fleet was stretched rather thin.
