The term 'laggageddon' was a post-manteau coined from the merger of 2 words: 'lag' and 'Armageddon' by graduate mathematics students in UCLA who were tutored by Terence Tao (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terence_Tao), who all remarked jokingly that Terence's thinking speed was supernaturally fast to the extent that he could literally compute seemingly intractable mathematical problems in his head very quickly, where the average graduate student had to use a pen, pencil, and calculator to work it out while needing 10 times the duration. To understand this difference in thinking speed, one only need to compare and contrast the amount of lag in this patch, with the last patch, to get a glimpse into the phenomenal speed of Terence Tao's IQ of 230.

Above: The very epitome of speed, Terence Tao's prodigious intellect outpaces every single one of us mortals; he multiplies 12 digit numbers in his head within minutes, while the average mortal cannot even do the same for 2 digit numbers. This difference highlights the difference in performance between this current PA build, and the previous one before this.

Likewise, ever since today's patch, I have been experiencing the worst Laggagedon of all time. In contrast to the last patch, both the FPS and simulation speeds seem to be around 40% of the last patch's. Does anyone else experience this, or is it just me?

So much for the "performance increases" in this patch, I guess ...

Your display driver is old (2013). Update to the latest driver direct from www.amd.com and you should get a big pref boost :) pa is very sensitive to drivers.

I just did a 2v2v2 and it was laggy to hell after 30min and lots of units involved. Even if it turned to a 2v2.
I can't see any improvment on lag when lots of units are built. This game is still an "enjoy your first 15 minutes and you'd better win fast". Things can't become epic when the game run (walk ?) so slow.
It ended with a crash. I started again but I was not assigned to a game anymore...

    i5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz
    8GB @ 1600mhz
    GTX 770 oc.
Never BSOD, no temperature problem (never gets past 65°c for gtx and 50°c for cpu on full load)

I can't believe nor admit this is not enough to play smoothly.

I just crashed from a game from a planet smashing.

Unless Uber resolves this issue before release, they might be forced to recruit Terence Tao of UCLA, to exploit his incredible genius to solve the problem.

Found the possible cause of my crashes - outdated drivers.

Haven't updated my drivers in 6 months. Upgraded from 13.1 to 14.4 Catalyst, and there was a tremendous boost in performance. Still testing it.

I just played a game of Glactic War. So far I've found 3 sub commanders, therefore there is always minimum 4 AIs in the game. My GTX580 could handle this at 60 fps no sweat before the update - an update somehow ironically was supposed to make the game run faster is now bringing my GPU to its knees. I can now run the game at a sub-par 19-30 fps.

Updates are good. Just not when the game performs slower.

Please fix this appalling Laggageddon post haste!
