I thought it might be helpful to list the features that we feel are missing and rate them in order of priority. Then the devs will at least no which ones are important to us in some kind of order.

Here is my list of features that I think still need work or are missing and in the order of importance to me personally:
    1. Final Balancing
    2. Matchmaking
    3. Ladder
    4. Asteroid belts
    5. Number of players
    6. Mod manager
    7. Mod tools
    8. Gas Giants
    9. Unit Cannon
    10. Submarines (under water layer)
Please List your lists and we will be able to compile them at the end and figure out which features we all want in common and hopefully come up with a top 3 or so requested features.

If I were to do this, it would end up the same as yours. Though I would change "final balancing" to "specialized T2 balancing" or "making T2 not cancel out T1".

I don't believe 'final balancing' has any place in release. Certainly not before the addition of submarines, the unit cannon, gas giants, and other features that would drastically affect balance.

And I'd take reduced memory usage over any other feature, because that means more and larger planets, as well as larger potential user base for large systems.

This is my top 5 list (as someone who isn't very competitive and usually sticks to playing against friends and people I meet online)

    1. Bot balancing (I can live with T2 being uber-powerful. I can even live with the shitty vanguards. But I CAN. NOT. live with an entire unit type being so stupidly underpowered.)

    2. Number of players (40 player games just sounds awesome. Uber pls.)

    3. Asteroid Belts AND The Unit Cannon (Yeah, both together. Asteroid belts will likely be released with the re-addition of movable asteroids, movable asteroids will be perfect to utilize with the unit cannon.)

    4. Gas giants (Yes, these are pretty important. Orbital needs to up in fun and intensity, having planets that can only be fought over using orbital will probably help with this)

    5. Ladder and Matchmaking (despite being non-competitive, I can still see the need for something like this. But I still think it's less important than improving gameplay.)

I pretty much agree with your priorities.

Stick "Launch" right after the Ladder, or maybe even Astroid Belts.

And I'd move Submarines up above Gas Giants.

Is everyone forgetting the placeholder metal points still need to be replaced?!
Clearly priority designation 1A. My metal planets don't have rocky outcrops.

    1. Integrated Ladder / Matchmaker (For me this is very important!)
    2. System Editor Improvements (i.e. almost complete control on what is on each planet)
    3. Full Integrated Modding (I have a suspicion that there will be some game changes coming in over the next few months that will ruin competitive 1v1 play. A competition match mod of some kind should be able to sort this out like happens in pretty much every other online game played competitively.)

The other fancy features like the Unit Cannon would be nice but they aren't game breaking to me by not being in PA.

While I was joking about priority, they were. It was mentioned in a livestream quite some time ago that different planets would probably have different looking mex spots. Which makes sense, they do look rather out of place on metal planets for example.

    1. User Interace improvements
    2. Reduction of forced micro
    3. More interesting terrain

    That's true.

Ooh, the metal planet note gives me an idea.
How about small holes in the ground (for both T1 and T2 mex) that lead to the "core" of the metal planet which is actually a large sphere with metal that can be harvested inside.

    My List
    Feel free to disagree
    1. Unit Cannon
      1. Because it would be a really fun way to crack a planet
      2. or just to attack your enemies base on the same planet
    2. Mod Manager
      1. Don't get me wrong, the current MM is great
      2. That said, something in game would be nice, with a PA themed UI and all
    3. Final Balancing
      1. Warning: Not a pro player so I duno
      2. I think they are getting really close to final balance
    4. Asteroid Belts
      1. Would be really nice to have more planets to jump to and just get resources
      2. Cool idea to just drop an asteroid on your enemies base and not kill the whole planet
    5. Submarines
      1. Would add to naval gameplay
    6. Number Of Players
      1. Would be really fun to have a 20 v 20(Utter chaos)
    7. Gas Giants
      1. Cool idea
    Things I took out
    1. Ladder
      1. I do not see this as being the most important feature in the game.
      2. Sure every once and a while you could face a player that is a lot better than you but then just rematch with someone else
      3. Any number of minor features should be built first, stuff that effects the game play should come first, then stuff to enhance it.
      4. Also right now there is a mod for that..
    2. Matchmaking
      1. Same argument as the ladder
      2. Also mods...
    3. Mod tools
      1. The modding that takes place for PA is using Javascript, HTML, and CSS. These three languages do not require may tools.
        1. Javascript(Not related to java) is usually a client side language running in a browser which is exactly what PA is. PA actually displays in a modified browser. The gameplay itself is all done in another thread and then through a lot of complicated stuff, shown in a element in the PA web browser. You can practice JS by just making a simple web page.
        2. HTML is a language to specify the elements in a webpage. There are tons of visual tools already existing if you don't want to learn HTML and CSS.
        3. CSS is the language used to specify the look of HTML elements.
      2. Unit data is stored in JSON files which is pretty easy to understand, but if you can't then there are also tons of tools to modify visually that already exist.
      3. I do not see why you would need modding tools just for PA.
      4. Hop on over to the mod forum or PM me if you would like help starting to mod.

@mayhemster by "Fully integrated modding", do you mean an official Mod Manager or something in game? Because right now modding is very integrated and getting to completely ingratiated(With more server side modding coming up).

Technically, the game can already do these, it's just an artificial limitation on Uber's servers (there has been a 40 player game played before :) ).

By modding tools I actually meant more ways to interact through the means you expressed. In other words exposing more of what can be changed and modified. Sorry if I was unclear.

    Good god, chaos.

Ahh, then I agree. Having more control would be nice. But I think we are going in the right direction.
However with 1.0 the server will also be released so that will automatically happen(Depends if they release the source or the binaries though).

    a 40 player FFA.....(flexible alliances....optional) would be hilariously insane....and if you win....the feelings man....the feelings
