Regen

    For the next update, probably would be a good idea to focus on units regen, especially the Commander regen...
    For the Commander, w/ could get a 10HP/s passive regen, and for factories and other structures, a regen more like the HALO shield(wait then regen), but w/ very low rate, like 5HP/s

    I don't like the idea of structures and units regenerating health. Vanguards would be even more annoying. Commanders could use one though.

    So we don't have to micro our combat fabbers/repair bots, of course!! :D
    Not that I think that's a good thing.

    If i'm not mistaken. You can set fabbers to area patrol/assist (I forgot which one) around your base and they will repair any damaged structures/units in the area.

    This is an important feature for modding.

    For PA's default game... not so important.

    I think a repair tower with an area of effect would be more appropriate.

    I feel like that would encourage more people to turtle. We already have the combat fabber.

    not for the Commander passive Regen... it was here even before SupCom, it was here in "the gold age of TA"(1997)
    for units ok, but for Commander this need to be here NOW!

    The reason for regen is to get HP back for the unit, for example the commander...

    if you get low on health at now, the enemy will have better chances to make a sniper on you, until the end of the game... but you can spare a bunch of metal to repair half of your commander life, and the commander is a priority target... and if you invest on your comm, you can't make as much units that if were not... so you decide:
    Snipe or be overhelm... unless if you already get a lot of metal...

    I wouldn't mind a commander auto-repair, as long as it took metal, and had a (say 30 seconds for now) cooldown after taking damage before it started, and heal at a rate of 30 metal per second or so.

    -1 if you want something to be repaired, repair it. Combat fabs do it for 0 energy, you know.

    so put metal when you want to it be repaired...

    The Commander have a Strong Nanolathe Arm, and while it is Idle it could repair itself... I want a regen, not necessarily a free regen(of corse would be better)...

    But just to know why you are against regen? its a good thing... will not be something like 100HP/s

    • +1 for exposing a Regen mechanism for modders - always good to have more hooks
    • -1 for making use of Regen in vanilla PA - just does not fit with its feel, scope and heritage

    I believe that commanders should have a measly 1hp/s regen, exactly for lore reasons. IIRC most of the commanders were supposed to be destroyed a very long time ago, then they suddenly reactivated and self-repaired.

    we can just make a experiment... put a regen and let people make their feedback.
    this way you will see if its a good or bad thing
