Worth mentioning, that was the first pass at the Cougars. I haven't experimented with them too much after they were nerfed.
Perhaps, but there's just so many being fielded there that it's comical. It must be stopped; the Cougar isn't supposed to be a mainline battle-tank. It's supposed to be an escort.
Rotation speed nerfs were what I did to prevent a similar issue with the Statera gatling bot. The Statera smasher is meant to be bad vs bombers, good vs gunships though while this one is meant to be fine vs bombers; the result being that this solution won't work for you.
The problem is that people are massing Cougars to kill ground units. Rotation speed won't change much to do with ground interaction, but it would be devastating to there AA ability. We just need to make sure there not the most cost effective unit by a reasonable margin in ground vs. ground fights.
So.. another increase in cost to 400 then? EDIT: NVM, Their HP was nerfed to 350 and their cost increased to 375
Indeed. I figure that, with the range advantage the Cougar has it doesn't need hitpoints. That makes it much worse as a front-line tank, while retaining the ability to deal with short-ranged infantry. Price may still need to go up, but the hit points are now much more in-line with the intended purpose... it was just too good at everything.
Love the progress you guys are making and the speed you realise there is a problem and begin tweaking. Much better approach to balancing in my eyes. Good job.
