Do they look like this for everyone? Because it really sucks... Especially when you get automatched via PAStats and can't pick your color
I've never had a problem with black/dark grey icons looking like that... are your drivers up to date?
(sigh) yes. I'm playing on a mac. i know, i know, there's my problem... I wonder if Uber tests on macs?
I'm playing on a Mac too, and usually play as black (love the black units). My icons never look like that and are just as clear as any other colour.
Yes, we do. But there are a lot of different Macs out there now, even if there's not as many as there are PCs. What year/model, including graphics chip? No need for an equivalent system spec dump, just the year and model type will tell us enough, as long as you know what graphics it uses.
Mac Mini circa 2013. Integrated intel graphics. Barely runs with the graphics turned down as low as possible, everything off.
I've got a Mac Mini kicking around too, same model I think - mine's a 2.3ghz i7 with 8gb RAM and an Intel HD 4000 GPU. I can install PA on there and see if I get it too. Do you also get this issue if you create a multiplayer game vs AI, and select black for your colour? [edit] Okay just tested it on mine and I get the exact same thing - almost black-on-black icons, and the trees appearing lit-up on the dark side of the world. A Mac Mini isn't really designed as a gaming computer though .. that seemed painfully slow to play. Does it even meet PA's minimum specs?? (yeah it does, just barely) [edit2] I also tried switching my settings to minimum on my iMac and still had no problem making out the icons, so it seems specific to the Mini?
i don't usually think of an i7 w/ 8gb ram as a slow computer... Aliessil, it works fine if you set the resolution to subsample 50%, the CPU is more than adequate.
The problem is probably the graphics card, I can run 60fps early game with HD3000, but getting into the game is a pain.
I don't think of a $4000 dual GPU PC as slow either, but I won't try to supercompute with it Its all about the computer's purpose.
