So a lot of people don't like the overall theme/aesthetic of PA. The simplistic, blocky toy look just isn't appealing to some people. They prefer the gritty gunmetals of SupCom.

Simple solution: Allow for texture pack functionality. In a similar fashion to Minecraft.

Yes, that gif can be used to describe the end result of the whole able commander thing.

Personally I like the minimalist-blocky look. SupCom was over-techy in my opinion, trying to give off the impression that more was going on beneath the surface.

TA didn't have really complex unit textures and looks iconic.

The amount of detail in SupCom was clearly the result of a lot of effort, and looks pretty cool. But it's saturated, and unless you zoom right in on something and look at it from every angle then you won't see all the details. PA thinks about how something will look on the battlefield; as a small part of the whole awesome picture.

That said I like custom things, and I'm sure given the chance the community would create nifty texture packs.

I just don't like silly looking color combinations.
I like that in GW all secondary colours are grey for this reason :D I wonder if I can mod that into multiplayer...

That functionality is already in place. It's as simple as a client side mod which shadows the texture files.

Except that noone has done a texture mod yet since there are more interesting things to do. Oh, and most likely because the toolchain isn't thaaaaat great yet.

Also because Art Assets form one of the biggest chunks of time requirement AND are in general, much harder to find people with the required skills to work on compared to just coding and the like.

Playing a mix of fantasy and science fiction games really takes the edge off.

So long as it makes sense (Rex here doesn't for the cybrans) the rexy boy here is as cool as can be.

    I really want better colors.

There's too many colors that are too close to each other. blue/purple and red/pink in particular.

It's odd because pink actually looks quite different from red in the player list, as well as the lobby, and even on units I think. But the strategic icons are so close to red!

(But please, dear uber, don't steal my pink from me </3 )

And let me keep my purple! Even if it's a different shade.

I'd like more grey. More grey would be nice. Maybe...fifty shades?

    Oh man... Hahahaha
And it was actually called... They called it the cybranasaurus Rex.

Seriously, what was the thinking behind that things design? I'd forgotten it even existed.

I think the problem for me with this game is that everything is square of hexagonal, and i mean 99,99% the only round thing in this game is the planet you play on, and for some reason the designs feel inspirationless and cheap. And i know they want to keep things within the theme, but to much of the same thing makes it bland and boring.

It's a cyborg unit, you know, because cybrans are cyborgs.

Unfortunately they only use robots in war, not cyborg forces.

Not that cyborg forces wouldn't be cool....

SupCom 2 generally felt like GPG just stopped giving a damn about continuity and logic and making sense and all that and just started throwing in whatever looked cool.

Rexy here is the perfect example.

It's a casual macro RTS, but people were expecting a competitive macro RTS and got burned.

The game has good ideas, and many of which were badly executed.

It's still one of my favourite games to play, even more so then the original.

No no, that's where you're wrong. They were perfectly executed. They died in seconds.
