Lots of cool improvements in this game. Very nice! The graphs at the end of the game are nice, but they continue moving after the match.
wow, that spawn/landing animation looks finally great. I think it would look even cooler if the commander would glow increasingly from the heat of the rapid down fall and ending the spawn with a really bright explosion. I mean the explsion looks great as it is, but it should be a lot brighter for that short moment when the comm hits the ground... edit: just realized there is a glow effect on the commander, even though it is not increasing as he is nearing to the palnet.
Galactic War doesn't work. I just took the liberty of testing because I felt like streaming an Absurd playthrough with something besides tank tech for a change and that these changes were worth showing off in videos. I figured it might work if systems are starting to work again. I guess I was wrong. Specifically, it crashes after the video, and I turned all mods off.
I have two things to say: - Mines and Booms don't do any damage. - I tried planet smasing. If two celestial body collides, they both get destroyed completely, and get taken out from the game. I tried with several combinations (250r moon into a 500r desert, 150r moon into a 600r lava, 75r moon into a 750r tropical)
Eh, ill shrug it off though, it may be functionality dependent for new things now that fired can be sperated. Now I guess in the off chance of different guns that different fire sounds can play.
On closer examination, nuke_launcher_ammo_explosion_ent has a new audio effect but still uses the default_commander_explosion effect
Due to the mass changes that went in at the same time, that may be the more significant factor, but I've only tried it with planet smashes, not head-on collisions.
I tried planet smashes only as well. But maybe it means we are going to have asteroid belts soon, because I tried it with 50r ice and 1250r moon and it worked, the moon didn't get destroyed. So small asteroids can deal damage to a planet, but not destroy it completely.

Planet smash crater does continuous damage after being created. Set up a map that had a radius 200 moon collide with a radius 760 lava planet. Planets smashed, made a big crater, killed half the planet instead of the entire thing (nice) so me and the AI survived. Ground and air units getting close to the crater edge got destroyed, the crater had this effect all the way around. I was trying to drive scout buggy's into the crater to test if it was pathable but couldn't because they all died. Units are oblivious to the crater being there though.
Using a system with a metal planet and a second other planet crashes the lobby on loading the system, did not use any colliding orbits, did not have the planets orbit each other, just 2 separate orbits around the sun. Using a system with just 1 metal planet is ok and loads a working game.
