Well I suppose, but can you really avoid that? They're putting all the money from that commander into the charity. If they took one dollar from it, they'd get the dollar, and the tax break still- right? So which is the better and most thoughtful choice?

Our artist worked for a week to make the Able gamer model distinct from the Progenitor.

Where could one get the Able commander? I don't see it in the ingame shop.

You haven't commented on the model which is what a lot of people want to know about.

I think the main question Brian wants answered is this:

Did you consider the exclusivity of the progenitor's MODEL when you decided to use it for Able?

The cut is that they are selling PA full early access price (more than retail), as obviously you can't use a commander without it.

They are not, not anymore. You can't even buy the progenitor, nor alpha, nor delta, any more. That package no longer exists. This is a separate commander, and all the money goes to charity, Uber doesn't even get a single CENT.

I can't believe anyone could think this company is evil after all the good things they've done, have they messed up? Yes, but with good intentions. Ever heard "It's the thought that counts"?

Well if this is a new starting point I have something I want to follow up on, in the Hostility thread the topic of "Voting with your wallet" came up and lead into the following conversation;

To be clear, I do agree with the principle of "Voting with Wallet", it's why I haven't bought an EA game since Dead Space 1(which itself was good but what followed wasn't), but if you can't track the people taking that course then it's pointless to recommend it no?

Also thoughts on maybe a separate thread for design feedback on the Able Commander? I feel like posting it here would more than likely have it swept away with the other posting going on.

Exactly. They have good intentions! There are people out there with power that actually have bad intentions. I think we should go worry about that instead.

Couple of basic questions, Brad:

1) Is this Able Commander available in the Armory yet?
2) Are there any restrictions on where it's available (US only vs Worldwide, Uber client vs Steam, etc).

1) Nope, you'll have to wait until the next update, OR download the PTE version and buy it there.
2) There shouldn't be.
