First the delta now the progenitor? Why did we even back if everyone can use a slightly altered version of our backer commanders? I don't even know why I payed $200 for the Cosmic Edition for everyone to get a free invictus. Now People can buy the rarest commander? This is insult to injury to every kickstarter backer, Uber what are you thinking?

Left is Prog, right is Able. See the difference?

Har har har, lets see you fork out a substantial amount of money for something exclusive to find out its being mass produced and sold/given away for 1/20th the cost.

There are already a lot of threads about this. Please use one of the existing threads instead of flooding the forum with things the rest of us don't care about.

In the end, it's just pixels - a bunch of ones-and-zeros that were always infinitely copy-able.

Yes, it sucks that people bought in on based on the idea that they'd get something that nobody else would, but there's really no point getting your panties in a knot over it.

Go get upset over starving children in Africa. Be useful with your discontent.

Well you see, you back a project, to back it. If you did the Kickstarter solely to get the commanders... Well then you shouldn't be on kickstarter, kickstarter tiers are not you buying those commanders or tiers, they're you paying more money to fund the project, those extras are just that... extras. They are something to say thank you for helping to get the project kickstarted.

Oh and by the way, I paid an extra 200$ from my original ninety, JUST for those commanders. So I have had this feeling, and I'm still content. They even technically didn't even give away your commander, it has a separate texture map, and separate name.

The events with the Delta were completely understandable, they unknowingly did the wrong thing by using the Delta for all the publicity stuff, this made people confused and annoyed they didn't get it. Understandable, the Able was even for a good cause, with the right intentions. They have said they thought the texture difference was enough, and that they worked with that model because they liked it, and that if you can't look over something like this for charity then just.. bleh.

So bottom line, calm down, it's a model. Your's is still special, nobody can buy what you have. They can buy something similar, but you have the original, your's is different. Your's is exclusive.

This is probably the best thing i've read that defends Uber.
    +1 to you, squishypon3.

His post just says that he's fine with literally anything Über would end up doing it. Even if admittedly wrong. And it is not very smart, actually. But it's surely sweet, 'cos he's a sweetheart of a Squishypon3.

However, do fight for your rights. Those are the only rights you'll get.

Talk about a loaded question. If ever there were a thread title which warranted a thread lock, this would be it.

I defend Uber too. Technically the actual commanders are all just skins, and all just code if that. Technically, all commanders use one of 4 animation trees, so that makes all the commanders just copies of all the backer commanders.

If you are arguing close details, those are shades of grey. Hardline is, you still have the progenitor, and no other commander is an exact duplicate. If you complain about other progenitor like commanders, what about the invictus, isn't it imperial animated, it's awful similar.

I mean, I NEVER understood the complaint, are you complaining other people have a commander so similar to your exclusive one, that somebody who takes their glasses off to play PA at night might not see that you are speshual? The difference between delta, invictus, progenitor, and able, are all especially visually discernable. I don't understand because I could NEVER not notice a player using one or the other.

Anyway, been brought up before, really like other topics at top of general discussion, please don't overly blatantly duplicate posts, yadda yadda. *shrugs* I got better things to be doing as well though... Srsly though, posting this late on a Sunday night, that buys you time before a delete or lock, but srsly, this will be deleted, sorry if that personally hurts you, feel free to RE this to the steam or reddit or gamefaqs or anything else...

The thing is, people could preorder for $200. This makes your statement about extras almost irrelevant. Uber was already making the game, so it was a valid reason to shell out 200-250 dollars after the fact for commanders. Stating facts, not defending nor trashing Uber. I like to try and stay objective on most things.

I prefer to judge people based on their intentions rather than what ends up happening, because I know how it feels to mess up something when you really tried to do something right.

Well yes, but that was a mistake. People bought it on there not expecting them originally, then finding the Comms on their receipts. Uber couldn't take them off because they had already bought them. Technical issues, eak!

Well, you know what they say about the road to hell...

But yeah, does uber really hate backers? No, not as far as I can tell. I don't really think that an issue of cosmetics could ever bring me to say something like that.

Yes we still have an "exclusive" commander.

But the Kickstarter specifically says "unique model."

Everyone is right, "it's just pixels." But it still means that Uber is not delivering on their Kickstarter promise.
