What defines thread hostility? (Able commander controversy aside)

No differences between commanders, no Uber units, no shields (not sure if these would be in, I believe uber was impartial to it), how orbital works, and probably a couple other big things.

Also, flak cannons were added due to community request IIRC.

Can you prove any of that?

The Commander stuff was always up in the air, and while there were plenty of bad knee jerk reactions to it there was also a lot of support and the reason given after the fact was simply one of complexity, not community opinion.

For Uber Units, the Devs didn't have a specific position on them staked out, not surprising given the SupCom method for Experimentals. To this day I don't think Uber has clarified/updated us at all on the status of a "Megabot" or any form of "SuperMegaExperimental" type units.

For Orbital, you'll have to explain how we've had any effect because Uber has held true to their plan despite extensive community comments/discussion both before and after Orbital was initially implemented.

This is true, but don't expect me to believe for a second that it was PURELY due to the community, I'd hope Uber had considered a Flak weapon since the beginning and was only waiting to see what happened as the game developed.

Why would it have to be PURELY due to the community? It's not a decision making body, but a place where they can judge the response of the playerbase and respond accordingly. That's the point.

The point is that the community does SHAPE their decision making, and our feedback is taken into account.

That's some pretty selective decision making, don't ya think? I mean, in some instances they've taken our opinion into account (and said so), but in this instance they've hit the other end of the spectrum.

I understand why people may be annoyed. But seriously guys why do we care about it? What has this got to do with the game? Nothing. Just a bunch of spoiled drama queens if you ask me.

This thread clearly states able commander drama aside and yet you guys still
continue on about it.

The point was that the game would be different without the community, and so far, I don't see that being the case, Flak is an obvious answer and it's not like it's something Uber never considered before the community "got involved."

Actually, this thread should be more about (and against) *censoring* than the Able Commander in itself.

Theoretically, if proved guilty, Uber might have to refund up to 1,435,560 USD.

I'd rather avoid that, they've gone bankrupt enough; not to mention I don't want this game to fail.

I can't find it, but there was a whole article on it, they've gone bankrupt twice I think, they were paying to keep MNC (I think) going with their own money for a while, making no revenue.

Yeah I don't think that'd be a good thing for anyone. My point was mainly that the opinion is being a Kickstarter project absolves the creator from standard contractual obligations and it really doesn't.

The Kickstarter T's and C's do allow some wiggle room based on the fact that no project is guaranteed to succeed, however I think PA is well past the 'will it won't it' stage now.
