Those are actually metal makers. The less animated buildings are mexes as far as I can tell.

You used to be able to build them anywhere.

I'd much rather have the sort of grid organisation base building dealie. I'm too neurotic about neat bases

Those are just renders, they didn't make any 3d models for the KS trailer of the game they hadn't started yet.

If it's a render, they had 3D models. Those models likely won't be compatible with the game without a lot of work, but there is (or at least was) something.

Yeah wondible is correct- those were 3DS Max models not tuned for the game, but 3-D models none the less....

I just want huge jungle trees. :(
And better mountains (and mountain planets, as shown here).
I mean...look at this concept art:

The thing is, some things are confirmed, but such a long while ago that we forgot that they were confirmed...

The better lava, sinking boats, water particles for moving naval units, fog of war icons, the list of promised things goes on... They're working really hard and these things aren't a priority, but I'm just worried mainly because they were confirmed months ago, and never spoken again of. So I hope they have a list or some clever guy that reminds them of the 'finishing touches' for the game.

Not really, I have the KS commander and it'd work after being rigged. The problem you'd find is more so that they need to be heavily optimized, a lot of worthless geometry inside of them that serve no point but raise the polly count. :p

(Well to be fair that'd be quite a bit of work, but I mean if you were crazy you could put the highly unoptimized model into the game! )

I am disappointed by the lack of terrain swirls; textures just don't cut it.

In fact, the only concept that's made it through the "evolution" process seems to be metal plants. Aside from a few darkened panels I don't see anything missing from them compared to the live version.

    This, this right here.

(Especially since I find that even the texture swirls aren't as common anymore)

Sure would make water worlds look less... utterly featureless and uninspired.

wow those really look amazing, better then sc2 graphics if they do upgrade it :), right now I think the game/gameplay is way more advanced then sc2 but lacking on the graphics end, I had problems when first loading this game sc2/cs:go/dota2/firefall/battlefield/eso skyrim and many many other games all worked fine but when I first tried to play this game it kept crashing and crashing then I updated my driver for gpx card and it works like a charm.. hopefully if they implement this it won`t be to much of a strain on lower end pc`s but then again I normally play with everything in low to provide less stimulation to my brain and focus on gameplay more but just for casting/ viewer end of the spectrum some graphic changes in the "ultra" settings would go a far far way, but then again the game already looks pretty damn good graphic wise to don`t get me wrong :)

anyways just wanted to say cool :)

I suppose it's because time spend on talk isn't going into development. ;)

Honestly I miss when the water was more opacite as well, being able to see the land underneath made the water feel real. Now it looks more or less like cyan paint when you zoom out. Boring and featureless, as you said.
