So, one of the big selling points for me is when the DRM-FREE, LAN license use is in place. As I understand it, one license can be used to activate unlimited copies of the game, but only one of the license may play online. That would allow LAN parties to be inexpensive and open to everyone, regardless of whether they own the game. I plan to buy the game when this feature is active, and I may be asking a stupid question, but is it? I haven't been able to find anything relating to it on update logs, but I might have missed something. Thanks!
It's will be only available after official release. From legal point of view none of games I know ever allowed anything like "unlimited" of anything even being DRM-free. Usually there is some fair-use limits of how-many players can use same license. E.g for your personal use on your own PCs you can run any number of game instances, but if there more than one person playing then there is always limit like 2-4-8 players per license. Obviously DRM-free game won't stop you from doing so, but it's still not legal actually.
welcome to the forum Server is not released yet and a purchase includes LAN play as a part of the EULA. From the steam store page: (my emphasis) edit: ninja'd
