So I've bought the game recently and tried to run it on my gaming ASUS G56 laptop. It's native screen resolution is 1920X1080, but hey- PA doesn't care and runs on god-knows-how-low (I can only presume it's around 1280X1024 or something like that). Scaling the resolution is far from being helpful, and I would really like to smash planets in HD. Before you ask- yes, I know how to change graphic GPU's. Can anybody help me?

Have you checked the options menu?

Yes, and there is no option to change the resolution- only scaling

This is because PA does not run in traditional full-screen mode, so it doesn't change your monitor's resolution (eg., it's still running at 1920X1080). The resolution scaling setting then modifies this - 100% is the same as screen resolution. Less that 100% will show less pixels, and greater than 100% will give a crisper image.

Check to see that resolution scaling is set to at least at 100%.

So down below is the comparison of my settings and their final effect. It cannot be my native, and if it is- I must have really screwed something up PA.jpg PA 1.jpg

Hmm, that is downscaled - have a similar resolution and mine appears far sharper. I don't think the scaling setting affect the main menu, so maybe see if there's some other setting in your Graphics driver's control panel that could be causing this?

Does changing the scaling up to max change the appearance in-game?

    Can you upload your DxDiag.txt?
I can only guess you have some non standard DPI, but to be fair I not sure if this ever affected actual game.

No. Not at all :/ Even if there is a slight difference in the appearence of units (which I cannot confirm)- the GUI definitely remains the same. I've also checked NVIDIA control panel and everything seems to be alright

    EDIT: Here is the file

Resolution scaling don't affect UI at all. It's a point to have resolution scaling instead of modal resolution change, e.g it's not make UI blurry. ;)

There is known bug when Geforce Expierience failed to get drivers update, e.g check Nvidia forums.
Such problems it's this why I not recommend to use such software after all.

I get link above from Nvidia website so please try to look a bit better and you'll notice there is newer driver available. :)

Ok, got it. One more question- after lowering my DPI to 100% all windowed apps (including Firefox, which I now use) are horribly blured, apparently because of the monitor being too good (1920x1080 HD while being 15'6). Is there a way to fix that?

I would try to restart them all or PC. Possible those apps just can't adjust to DPI settings on the fly.

Aaaand here comes another- the driver for geforce you gave me claims not to be able to find required hardware. Nvidia site says it's because ASUS have their own driers for mobile devices, and ASUS site has nothing...

EDIT: Aaaand it's done. Had to switch Nvidia's site from my country's to english (albeit there I still could download the patch in my native language). PA works great. Thanks again for all the help. Now- time to anihilate some planets :p
