Epic bots of doom - Bots are not Underpowered

    A lot of people think that bots are underpowered, but i just got completely annihilated in a 3v3 because some guy used ONLY suicide bots, and killed us all. Can people please stop saying that bots are underpowered?

    So, let me outline your logic here.

    One particular Unit, when spammed in a 3v3 which happened to be a bot "beat you", ergo all bots are balanced?

    That seems kinda flawed to me.

    Just because the boom bot beat you once doesn't mean that all bots are balanced.

    Also, Boom bots are fairly easy to counter.

    oh, boom bots, lets see, heavy counter would be the gunships...those things WRECK...but earlier game, also more air to counter...but a solid line of tanks with infernos in front will pretty much wipe out boom bots, as well as the fact that boom bots have like...0 vision radius xD

    Bots in general are still underpowered given the construction time and cost.

    Boom bots are a rare exception since they are actually spamable, but Dox spam e.g. is pointless. Ant is just plain superior since it doesn't require any extensive micro and Inferno simply chews straight through any dense crowd.


    Besides...
    The fact that you can wipe an entire planet (including commanders) within seconds just be sending in a sufficient number Boom Bots is just as troublesome. There's just nothing you could do when your enemy decides to send 300 Boom Bots by portal.

    Bots had a unique role in TA. Not because of their speed (what speed?!), but because they were able to traverse difficult terrain. We don't exactly have steep slopes in PA which would affect movement, so bots can't have that benefit in PA, even though the multi planet concept would support this as different biomes have completely different features.

    So all what's left for bots is the infantry role, but that doesn't leave much room for diversity either.

    Well unit`s will allways be imba when people are playing, if you know what i mean.
    Good vs bad, imba. Right.
    A game can acaully never be balanced with out the balance of even but thats acaully not true.

    While we're waiting for the unit cannon to make the bots useful and add true unique raiding abilities that will justify a separate factory : is there a mod somewhere that adds jetpacks on bots to jump over cliffs and/or the ability to go underwater (one t2 bot can already) ? I think that would go a long way to make them useful at raiding or ambushing. Just messing with the cost, speed, dps, etc, seems very unsatisfactory from what I've seen so far. The bot factory is the only factory that doesn't have a unique "layer" capability. Unlike TA there is no such things as difficult terrains in PA and I haven't read anywhere it was planned.

    You are assuming that the unit canon would be limited to bots. If not, it will probably used to send in Infernos / Vanguards solely instead.

    A friend and I did that a while ago, when you still had to use the area patrol command to get them to do anything.
    Its not hard if your opponent doesnt know how to counter it.

    I don't know why people are saying BOOM bots are powerful. I built 500 of them and sent them at an enemy and I destroyed basically nothing. Should I just be using area attack or something?

    Area attack would be best, because then they screw with all the outlying metal, they're better at harassing than the dox.

    Dox are underpowered.

    But I like the rest of them, I don't even miss the AA bot.

    I am. It was limited to bots in the kickstarter video. I think Uber devs are trolling us and that's their plan for the bots. It's a guess but I certainly hope I'm correct.

    I do hope the unit cannon is limited to bots only, that would make them more appealing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that cool deploy from orbit and float to the ground while pew pewing anything below :D
