I just had a fun game finally after not playing PA since January. It was in a smaller system setup with 2 planets each no larger than scale 2. It was a constant seesaw battle back and forth for territory. This is exactly what I feel is missing in the larger planet games & why I dont play games with to big or too many planets..Honestly the larger planet games are very broken to the core. I hope uber fixes this somehow so even the larger planet games you can have larger battles for territory but it seems unlikely due to the how orbital thing. I never had much fun in supcom on the larger maps either & I think this same issue is coming up again with PA. Thoughts?
The Interplanetary Mechanics in particular feel very incomplete and the way that orbital has been used as a crutch has also caused issue for the Orbital aspect of the game as well IMO. Mike
Yea orbital needs a lotta work still. (hell a lotta things still ned a lotta work) But the back and forth that makes supcomm so fun (before shields come into play), is very much present in PA atm, which is a good thing . Although I wouldn't mind units having a tad more durability.
elonshadow: I'm looking for that back and forth action. That is the fun of RTS gaming for me. Your enemy pushing you back a few inches then you pushing back on him. The tides of war constantly going back and forth. Until one of you finds a kink in the armor & gets through. This is just not possible on the larger systems with many planets or larger scale planets. I literally played one game where there were zero battles & it ended with orbital & planet smash...Not fun.
You can always make a small single planet system and host a match. People have preferences on how they like to annihilate
Yep thats what i normally do dont go past scale 3 normally or more than 3 planets unless its a big team. I just hope there are more ways to invade planets or other ways of playing the game. Something needs to change to make multiplanet games more fun & add action
