If that works, that would be awesome.

That's with the converter I wrote (unless it also happens with the .fbx converter? In which case the issue is with your model). @teddythebear is referring to the FBX exporter, which can then be used with papatran.exe to create .papa files.

If the FBX exporter that @teddythebear mentioned works, you won't need the converter, because FBX & papatran.exe is a far better way to make PA models (it's the way Uber use).

Uber released a tool called papatran, which takes and FBX model and turns it into a papa. So if we can export from blender as an FBX model, we'll be able to much more accurately and easily make PA units.

get the new version of blender with the new FBX changes and put your models in there, then export them as FBX files, then figure out how to use papatran.exe

EDIT: OH COME ON - Ninja'd by @raevn

Have you had a chance to test it? Does it produce viable FBX files? :)

I wouldn't get your hopes up guys. If Squishy, Trophy, and myself couldn't get fbxs that came strait from max to work I doubt this will.

So I have successfully implemented one of my models I made in blender. I can confirm that it works. I am guessing most people get stuck on papatran.exe. Is it worth me writing up a quick tutorial?

We really need the raw FBX of the imported model so that we can look at its structure and compare it with those of our failed models which didn't import properly.

Is the FBX exporter you used built into the latest version of Blender?
