Realm mod: Naval test

    Hey. There have been some changes to naval since yesterday, mostly fixes to firing. Since yesterdays the build was quite broken I'm thinking another full-scale test in order. The game is up and will be so for the next 30 minuter or until it starts. Currently it's a 2v2, but it can go as high as 3v3 +3 spectator slots.

    Because Uber's balance is both broken and in a direction that many of us consider detrimental.

    it is bad to ask if people have something particular in mind?

    I consider Uber's balance to be neither broken nor detrimental to the game. I disagree with some of their premises but that doesn't make their direction wrong, nor ours right. It's just a different paradigm that we felt needed exploring.

    Well, it could end up alright, as I have enjoyed previous games by them, but I suppose expect more of the same?

    Ehh, it'll still be worth my money even for you modders.

    Very diplomatic of you WrongCat, I actually don't mine the current *stable* build balance. It's much better than earlier versions in my opinion.

    I haven't had the time to test the Realm Balance Mod yet, so can't comment on how it compares, I'm planning to give it a go soon though :)

    Because we want to. Because we thought about it and decided certain things would be badass.

    Is that so wrong? People made mods for star trek equipment in Fallout New Vegas. Why did they do that? More than likely, because they like star trek junk, it is badass to them.

    If you liked badass stuff, and you played with a json in a modded server constantly reloading until you found some cool unit build you like, wouldn't you do that shtuff?

    That was what I felt like when I was doing the leviathan in Statera Naval Mod.

    Well, I'm a professional middle-man, so diplomacy is something I get to hone frequently ;)

    Just like modding, calming down is my choice to make, and I can do it or not do it. I don't need a reason to do either, I do what I want #cartman

    For srs though, I will calm down, and was in fact never "riled up" to begin with.

    Eh, looks decent so far. Ish.

    The game was really short and I'm not seeing a lot of scoutboat play. Also, it seems like naval starts would almost require energy storage if you go first naval.. so maybe air first would be a decent option. It's hard to say, though, because earlier I experienced construction aircraft being weak individually, but I also see construction ships taking a while to build.. Are there any other videos from the naval balance yet?

    Also, I'm up for testing it right now and/or anytime soon™. At least within the next few hours or so if anyone can host it. (I had issues hosting last time)
