Crashes during play

The game freezes the whole computer up, usually just a few minutes in. I have to restart the whole machine. I just formatted this computer yesterday so maybe I am missing a driver or something? Any help is appreciated!

also if I raise the resolution even to the same aspect ratio it skew the image really badly
