    Please number one thing to fix should be the lag. Right now the game is on sale on humble bundle for 24.99. Guys will buy it and quit the first day.

    And yet...People seem to ALWAYS forget that the game is still being developed.... The lag will never go away until the Gamma is over. Even then, no game is truely without lag.

    Is it server side or client side lag that you're encountering?

    Ive been playing since BETA. The game was never laggy in beta. Its been getting worse and worse. I have over 400 games played . Trust me this game is really laggy compared too a month or 2 ago. Its unplayable. So know what your talking about before you post.

    That doesn't answer the question.

    Client side lag and server side lag are two very different things with two very different solutions.

    I am getting intense lag as well. And yes, it's definitely server side. I was playing posidian today and the server was running at the worst I've ever seen. It was also only a single planet. I've heard a lot of other people saying the sims are performing very poorly lately.

    Sim performance definitely hasn't been as good as it used to be.

    Uber said they had some server performance improvements for this build. But it doesn't seem to have made much of a difference.

    For what it's worth, this last patch has been a massive improvement for me. I have a Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 which is basically just four relatively weak processors, as far as modern games go. Judging from my massive framerate increase and less laggy UI, I'd guess that Uber just improved the multithreading in the latest build, allowing me to get the most out of my budget rig.

    I don't have that many issues, until late in the match where instead of fighting people just mass huge armies. Other than that I really don't have that many issues. I have been in since the beginning and it seems to me that it is getting better not worse.

    They moved the notifications into their own scene, allowing it to run in a separate thread. Before this the notifications would lock the ui and thegame was unplayable for a lot of us between the GW update and the latest patch.

    Over the last few months the game had gotten laggier and laggier with the UI lag being the worst. It had made the game unplayable and so i didnt play until i heard about the new update. Since the last update its all gone! No lag in any way shape or form. I dont know what they did but I love it and can enjoy the game once again!

    No lag on my end, even late-game. Been playing since early alpha.

    I've been getting terrible UI lag since the latest stable build. The frame rate is very high (when I'm not clicking on anything) and the server / sim side of things appears to be faster. Its just such a shame the UI is misbehaving the way it is.

    I've updated to latest graphics drivers, and I've tested with and without mods installed it doesn't really change anything.

    If no one else is getting this issue then maybe I need to delete my mods folders or something? Basically I get a huge frame rate drop every time I select anything (running at 120+ fps, click on a unit and it plummets to 5 then shoots back up again, its really frustrating!).

    We think the lag may be isolated to situations where forest fires have been started that not everybody has seen. Can you guys tell us whether that is accurate?

    I can start some fires and see I suppose. So that is just, play on a forest planet, with 5 non-teamed AI, sit with an air factory and a few turrets, and after a few minutes of building scouts I should just scout the entire planet and see what the performance is and if there were fires?

    Or I could wait until tonight, and try to test it specifically with someone.

    I've been getting this on maps that consist of a single moon biome, so I'm fairly confident it *isn't* restricted to forest fires. To be doubly sure I'll host up a game against the AI when I get home and test. Will report back later.

    Yeah, I get it on any planet, regardless if it has trees or not, sorry, could it just be servers under supreme stress? (The AI makes it even worse, when playing a ten player ffa with 8 of them being an ai server sim down to 0.1fps I believe.)
