Or go to a café in the town with free wi-fi hotspot or go to gamer's lounge and play there. Tell parents you are at the friend's house celebrating his cat's birthday.

It's OK, I am sending a number of attractive women with weed over the night before. Please make sure I meet him in round one, victory is certain.

It is a great advice and it is one of the good opportunities to learn how to lie properly. He will thank me later when he grows up. And there is seriously nothing wrong about liing about this, he wants to play, he can, he just needs to give his reasons a bit fancier way to the parents.

Wow. I can't believe you are advocating lying. Especially lying to parents. About a video game.

Gonna be pretty hard to win considering the big donkey ban hammer that was dropped when you rage quit last tournament. Or is it ok to leave if you lose your first match.
    Haha rekt!

Oh the memories. My father would plug out the lan cable from the router at 21:00 each day. To make sure he plugs out the right cable he'd marked it with some paper. I solved it by moving the paper from my lan cable to his cable, so he would plug out the cable of his own computer instead. Since he only very rarely used the internet after 21:00 he never noticed (maybe he also didnt think it was weird that his own internet did not work, because I had told him something like: "my computer is super important for the health of this router, if you plug out my cable expect it to not work until you plug it back in"). Even today that paper mark thing is still on his cable, even though I've moved out by now.
Oh I also told him about this like a year ago, he laughed about it.

I used to find it ironic that my parents got so annoyed at me 'wasting time on games' yet they had no issue spending an evening watching the box (once everything that needed to be done was sorted ofc). I think it's a lack of understanding of the medium, games when they were young amounted to pong and space invaders.

Still long time ago since that was an issue....

Edit: ill probably be just as bad with my own kids when I'm older... Or maybe I'll put them off gaming altogether... 'come back inside and put that bloody football away you health freak!'

Also, hoping Uber push out that UI bugfix today so players don't have to suffer it in the tourney.
