Just a point iv noticed with the new cluster bombers.
When they bomb a target its awesome that they carpet bomb but i think they start bombing too late. as they only bomb directly over head so out of 6 or so bombs only the first 1 or two actually hit the unit (if its going forwards) drastically reducing the damage of the bomber. I think a simple fix would to start bombing just before the unit as opposed to directly over head allowing for more of the clusters to actually hit the target. Yes i know its a carpet bomb and meant to be a bit inaccurate but unless the tanks are really bunched up your never going to hit more than one or two tanks any way.
    So to sum it up
Bombers should start bombing just in front of the target so that as long as its moving forwards it will run into 3 - 4 bombs instead of just getting a glancing blow from the beginning of the bombing run.
Any way thats just my view of it^^ feel free to disagree!

Agree. The whole point of a carpet bombing is to start releasing bombs before the target so the target ends up in the middle of the bombing run.

Then again, one unit should be safe from carpet bombs, a group of units however are screwed.

    Not really.

Not much is safe from carpet bombing, not even a single units. That's why it's a carpet bomb. It floods the entire area with bombs. A single unit would be safe from a single bomb, but not a carpet bombing.

The exact same principle applies to strafing runs, which is still used by today's US Air Force. It's one of the things that makes the A-10 Warthog so deadly. That chaingun it has. When you're flying by in an aircraft, you can't be accurate with each bullet – so you just flood everything with bullets. You fly overhead and aim in front of your target and start firing, and then as you fly pass the target and pull up, the nose of the A-10 sweeps over the target riddling it with bullets. The first shots miss, but the middle ones do. And you can very easily hit other targets that weren't your main target.

This same principle applies to carpet bombing. The first bomb probably won't hit the target, but several of the others will.

I would like to see the bombers have there behavior change, make them not able to go on top each other and drop more in formation and cover a larger area, instead of all dropping on the same spot.

as an alternative put some more variance/reduce the accuracy on the bombs, so 10 bombers would cover a larger area.

or a bomb area command ...
