Unfortunately spikes of inappropriate behaviour will always happen around times when there's a major release or a big sale. As a great many new players join the community, there will the odd few who can't behave in a civilised fashion.

And of course there are the newbies who just post something discussed a million times before, but then that's just about welcoming them and giving them a few pointers. The thing is, well-discussed topics will spring up every now and again as people who haven't discussed it yet will, well, discuss it.

Actually it was Rufus who said "Be excellent to each other."

No, Rufus was quoting Bill and Ted when he said it. When Bill and Ted visit the future (where they are practically worshiped.) they tell the people to "Be excellent to each other. Party on Dudes!" and then leave. This becomes the future equivalent of "goodbye". Rufus says it because he's from the future, but it's not his quote.

Ok. I admit it's been like 20 years since I seen the movie. I thought Rufus said it to them first.

I would have to check if he said it "first" but the madder part is that he only said it at all because they plant the seed by saying it in the future before he leaves. Bill and Ted don't shy away from causational paradoxes.
