What? Are you playing Mech Assault 2 over Xbox live? or Xbox connect? regardless it's amazing that people still play, considering the only "alive" (really dead) original xbox games are Halo CE and Halo 2. I didn't play much mech assault 2, but I played waaaaay too much of the first game. Lot's of nostalgia thinking back, and it really pushed me down the path of team based shooters. The 3 games I continue to play are: Halo CE - GOAT Xbox original game. Shadowrun - GOAT Xbox 360 game Monday Night Combat - The most fun team based shooter in my opinion on the 360. Borderlands 1 on PS3 (which is technically dead because online support was taken off of PSN) Banished (died way too early, had so much modding potential ;~; ) Saints Row 2 Freekstyle DEFCON: EVERYBODY DIES Uplink
Know what? I have been playing a lot of Fatal Frame 3 with my 6 yr old newphew spectating. 2 and 3 were great. Wtf happened to the series? Why does Call of Duty and Halo never stop making theirs long after people are begging them to just simply stop, yet other games just leave you hanging. Edit: Apparently the Wii happened to Fatal Frame 4 and never got ported officially to North America. There is a fan bypass to reigon locking and english text translation, they stopped before a dub though. I should play that. I would give gratitude if they actually advanced the series, and much hate if they sat on it and smothered it with their lazy buttcheeks without ever making another one. Here is to hoping
rhetorical question. Fact is, all of us here are the minority, but its criminal a game company can make a game a year, everyone says they are tired of it and its identical to the last, just for most people to buy it anyway. I don't care how many they sell, if they can't sell what I like, id quit video games for good. Luckily, some Indies usually make games that aren't a beaten dead horse with some interest to them.
I am, and I dislike the product after five or six. but its just my money spend elsewhere, and the majoritys money balled up in them, so my opinion doesn't change the situation.
The personality types that post on forums, myself included, are not really mass market. There may be some cross over, but just because a large group on forums. Or reddit. Or 4chan. We can say "zomg, stop with teh call of duty already!", but it's just a small echo chamber. The real market isn't really represented by a very vocal minority. It's hard to remember that when you have 100 people posting in the same thread with the same opinion. But those 100 people on an FPS focused forum don't represent the other 9.9 million people who eagerly await every next Call of Duty title.
Call of Duty was hugely popular with people in my year at high school, but NONE of them posted on internet forums or such
I remember the stereotypical cheerleader girls in my high school bragging about their K/D ratio in CoD. 'Gamers' -- as in people actively involved in the subculture -- usually dislike CoD, the rest of the world doesn't because well, they suck at video games or something.
