King of the Planet #6 feedback

In terms of length and tech level, that's simply due to this patch. T2 is useless right now outside of naval, and combat fabbers being able to push out a lot of troops very quickly means that an advantage quickly turns into victory and thus games are short.

In the previous patch meta the games always went T2 and were generally around 20 minutes long.

We are however discussing how often a biome can be used per-event, and whether to allow multi-planet matches (possibly on a limited basis).

I like the idea of entertaining matches and more challenging maps for the opponents.

So why not let the moderators choose a set of maps to
- make it more challenging for the opponents
- crown the most versatile player in the end
- make it a lot more interesting for the crowd, that desperately desires for more bread and circuses!

IMO that would be the fairest solution to have a battle on really neutral maps and is very likely to be more interesting than a perfectly efficient build practised a dozen times on a map chosen by one player.
Players may have the chance to rule out one type of map they really don't wanna play (e.g. comm-boxing, naval, etc.)

In what way? Do you mean being able to watch the games on your own after they're done or do you mean when Zaphod reviews a game during the player interviews?

The only thing would be to organise some fun ffa with the viewers at the end of kotp. Streamed if the caster is up for it, it's a fun way to end.

This is how I see a game on a planet that involves more thought, obstructions and excitement that provides a higher level of entertainment and yet requires a higher degree of strategy and true versatility and skill:

Personally, I think right now it's less of King of the Planet, and more of King of the Moon.. considering Matiz lost a few games on other planet types, and hasn't lost on the moon that I know of.

I like the idea of player using personally created maps, but I think it would be better if you had multiple types of planets :
Moon - Ground / Air
Water - Naval / Air
Lava - Air / light ground
Earthish - mix of all three

If someone is proficient at all types of single-planet warfare, then I believe they are deserving of King of the Planet title. I have no doubt that Matiz is obscenely good at adapting after seeing, and that makes him a top-tier player, but it's hardly fair to have repeats of the same moon he's personally practiced almost exclusively on. Sorry man, it had to be said.

He lost more games on moons than he won in King of the Planet 5.

I just wish I had cheesed abit and done round 3 and 5 as comboxing xD then I would be king right now xP and I wouldn't have cared if I lost it the next week but the evil matiz would be gone and all could rejoice...
