The arguments against shields are all stupid because they imply that they get implemented in a wrong way. If you keep telling that shields add nothing to the game you think that the devs cant balance them. If you think that we should also remove kbots or tanks because having them both adds nothing to the game. Why have stupid ships if we can just have hover tanks? Why add nukes if we can have arty?

All the units can add something to the game or not depending on how they are balanced and implemented!

If you give shields a purpose, and a good implementation, then go for it.
