For now, then you select an engineer, you first choose Factory (X), Defense (C) or Structure (V). Once you pressed any of these, there are no quick way to go between them? You have to deselect the unit and select it again! Or is it someway to head a space back in those interfaces that I have missed?
I remapped keys so the categories don't overlap stuff in the categories. Then you can flip between tabs.
This is my biggest gripe about the new keybinding system. Maybe there's something I'm missing. But I can't select a fabber, and just hold down shift while tapping different keys and place metal extractors, energy plants, factories, then storage, then a radar, then some towers, then more eco – all without selecting and deselecting a fabber. I really hope I'm missing something because if I'm not and we have to select and deselect a unit between building things, then that's a huge flaw in the current keybinding system.
Oh! nice that you can do that! It should be standard tho! Any recommendations about which keys are quickest? Does it work with shift+key?
I moved the grid over to RFV (I use WASD) It makes for a stretch going from group to grid (e.g. mex is c-j and I think vehicle factory stretches from z-m) so I'm probably going to try other arrangements. Someone suggested shifting up so the rare items are on function keys.
This is also annoying when you're trying to stop production in a factory (hotkey S). Even if no unit is set to S, the hotkey won't work in stopping production..really annoying.
