It'd be awesome if we could set rally points for teleporters, just like factories. So when units come through a teleporter, they go somewhere rather than sit there at the teleporter exit.

It'd be even cooler if we could give them various commands, like area patrol.

Edit: Apparently it's already implemented. I blame @wpmarshall

Yea, you can set the teleporter on planetwide patrol, and all the units that pour out with cover the entire planet

I don't know if this works anymore, but here is a replay link for when I was messing around with it: startpa://replay=15852362445909728663

What exactly is it that you do? I can't seem to get this particular Rubrik's to line up.

You can also set the rally points of factories onto teleporters, and units will stream through them so long as they are powered. Pretty awesome!

You should have a patrol button when you got a teleporter selected.. Just use area patrol off the teleporter as if you would on a unit and every unit that comes OUT of the gate would follow them instructions : )

What about the not even having to manually link teleporters (unless you want to). Say you have TP1 in your base and TP2 on an orbiting moon and TP3 on another planet. Instead of linking TP1 with TP2, why not just tell your units to move to the moon, and they take TP1 which auto-links to TP2. If then you want to move units to the other planet, you tell them to move there and TP1 links to TP3. If you want units to take a specific path, you can still manually link them.

I like to set the rally point for a teleporter to be the source teleporter. Then I get a cool loop of dudes going in a loop. It's fun.

A mildly entertaining diversion I have found:

    1. Vacate planet whilst leaving a teleporter on it.
    2. Construct a linked teleporter on your new home.
    3. Set Teleporter on original planet to patrol the whole planet.
    3. Construct Bot factories on the new planet. Path them into the linked teleporter.
    4. Build Bomb Bots.
    5. Is the original planet won yet? If False, goto 3.

I did that accidentally once. It was suppose to go from Planet A -> Planet B -> Planet C. Instead, they just went around in circles for 5 minutes on Planet B and made this huge pile of infernos, all trying to get into the teleporter, or falling/getting stuck on the sides of the crevices since it was a metal planet.

Had a fun GW yesterday. The red 4-planet boss fight. One planet was me and two enemy, another had a subcom and two enemy, second subcom got a moon to himself. I was pretty well occupied dealing the two commanders on my planet. By the time I had things under control, the other planet was in dire straights. I got a teleporter up moments before the fabbers got bombed, and started sending my zerg horde of bots through as the last of the ally's base got torn apart. I think I spent the next twenty minutes or so frantically microing the stream of bots to protect the teleporter and occasionally nibble away at some of the enemy structures. Thankfully I haven't seen the AI use nukes in GW, though he was trying to build Halleys.

And yes, I used the rally point to keep the stream pointed at the biggest threat.
