I hope they added offline play for this... can see this start to lag as the more planets you conquer?

It's generally regarded that offline play won't come until 1.0 release. In order to have offline play, we'll need to have access to the server, which Uber isn't releasing.

In the IGN vid, they have a "Join Local Server" option from the main menu, so maybe. But it could also just be place-holder.

Yeah I did know that, I was just figuring on seems this was a singleplayer mode, we might actually get the offline stuff a tad earlier than expected...

Meta does use avatars though, so I'm guessing he's showing off an internal build, so I wouldn't bet on that option ending up in the public release just yet.

It's all speculation right now.

We'll see, but I haven't seen any indication from Uber that this will happen. And Uber tends to like to hint at things and hype them.

I also imagine offline play would have been advertised in at least one of the many articles that's talking about how the new build is available now.

Like galactic war being the "Big Rock Feature" and voice overs and new UI.. we all knew that was coming, right?

Did anyone see the new screenshots and icon on Steam? They're pretty nice!

They've been hinting and talking about it.

The fact is, no-one had a clue what was in this update.

We had our suspicions.

And Uber has been talking about and hinting at all three for some time now.

After watching some of those videos, I really like the new voice-over commands, really awesome actually I like it though some were saying before they didn't, I'm sure there will be an option to turn that off somewhere if you don't like it, but I'm digging it
