well I think we know who we can trust in regards to source reliability

I like the general idea of having some technological progress over the course of the galactic war campaign. Else it would just be a series of meaningless skirmishes.
If the outcomes of the battles affect what kind of stuff you have available, the whole thing becomes a lot more interesting because the state of the game on the galactic map is reflected in the actual battles.
Also, I am actually able to understand German and I didn't see anything in that article that hinted at micro-transactions.

After battles, new technologies will be unlocked and apparently there will be some kind of special abilities, too.
Maybe the "cards" reflect what kind of special abilities you have.
That whole sentence is a bit weird and not too terribly clear.

"Karte" can mean quite a few different thingy, btw.

Maybe by "cards" they meant "maps" or maybe they chose that word at random because they didn't know how to call something they saw.

PS:
I can't imagine what you would expect to be a robotic voice that doesn't sound human anymore. If it didn't sound human you wouldn't be able to understand it
Also, these robots were created by humans, therefore it makes sense for the robotic voices to sound human.
And I like the voice, actually

Honestly, whichever way it goes, it's good for players. As long as it's not such a massive fustercluck as Stardrive was. That game could have been soooooo good.

I'm sure it's better for them to record too much, then cut it back later, than it is to record too little and have to book additional studio time at great expense.
