0.o http://variety.com/2014/digital/new...vice-twitch-for-1-billion-sources-1201185204/ Now this is extremely interesting... I hope this means we'll get a better twitch video player and better ads. I also wonder if Twitch will even stick around, maybe it'll get absorbed into YouTube? At the very least I hope there's some improvements to the API.
Since the YouTube video player and ads are both better than Twitch, then that's actually very likely. Also, it's not like Google revolutionized the search engine industry, has the best email service available, provides plenty of free storage through Google Drive as well as cheaper upgrades than Dropbox, provides better word processing and spreadsheets than Office for free, plus the many other excellent and free services that are out there. Not even going to bother bringing up Android. Google does things better than most other companies out there.
Well Youtube is a sh*thole compared to what it was before Google. They have this twisted need to keep tinkering with stuff that works perfectly fine.
The youtube player is the best streaming video thing I know of really. Youtube is nice if you just want to use it for videos and music. Playlists are there, the player basically always just works and it's nice and all. Just don't try to use the comments or any social features. But who would even need those?
Yeah, but they worked. Then, right before G+ they worked really well (replied comments would show up on the top when you clicked on the inbox link) Then Google was like "LAWL LET'S TURN IT INTO REDDIT VIDEO EDITION!!"
Before G+ they were at least good for a row of lols in order. Now they are a mess so bad I don't understand where the top or the bottom is supposed to be and to comment at all I need a full G+ account that constantly asks me if I want to post under my "real" name.
You forgot best auto ban system for DCMA/copyright abuses. Doubt it because there is too many companies already partnered with them, but they'll be slowly integrated into Google anyway so I doubt we see more companies partnered with them in future. This can be a good thing because possible we'll get even better streaming services as result.
I really hope they'll move to HTML5 player because crappy flash is annoying (full screen don't work properly with my two monitors) and external player isn't always solution. Unfortunately Google as company which sell ads and private information don't like to share any data or customer base with anybody else so they stopped ship proper APIs long time ago.
I hope google keep improving Twich. I dont know why people complain about the youtube google plus integration. For me it is a very neat feature.
Well, what I'm looking forward to most is an HTML5 player. It's not hard to improve the many issues with Twitch anyways.
Oh crap, I wonder if Google will try and make Uber either pay or take it off the game? (Probably not, but I wouldn't put it past them)
I seriously doubt Google would be that stupid. They'd be killing Twitch, and they know it. They don't charge anyone for YouTube integration, they won't charge anyone for Twitch integration. They make their money off of ads on free services.
