We just found out that if you UPGRADE a normal metal spot, the statusbar reports its still producing 7 metal.

If you pick a clean spot and build a heavy metal extractor on it, the status bar reports its generating 27 metal :)

    T2 metal produces 27, T1 metal produces 7.
You can place one T1 and one T2 on every metal spot. You do not upgrade mexes.

Wait. Do you get a total of 34 mass per mass spot if you build a t1 and a t2 mex on it?

    yes.

and @BulletMagnet is right. The metal production works correctly. it's just the selection box which is wrong for the t2 mass point.

Man every time I hear people say "mass point" and "mex" it's a metal spot; not a mass point. :(

    Semantics I know, sorry. :D

Can you build a T1 extractor on a T2 extractor?

    And if not, why not?

You can. Also, you have to a lot, t2 extractors under fire lose their t1 extractor first before it dies, so you have to rebuilt the destroyed weaker underneath t1 mex.

Seems a little silly to me.....the T2 extractor is bigger, it should probably die first...right?

It does die first in my experience.

I imagine it would depend on the weapon being used, anything with AOE would hit both extractors and so the one with less health should die first while a weapon with no AOE should be hitting the larger Advanced Extractor first and destroying it before hitting the smaller Basic Extractor.

Exactly, because AOE damages both, and the t1 mex has much much less health.

Now, in most patches, ants and such kill the first thing they hit, the t2 mex, before hitting the covered up thing, the t1 mex, unless some wierd clipping happens.

But, this update has grenadiers :p

Well mass mass is a LOT more generalized than metal. Mass encompasses just about everything whilst metal is well.. only metal.

This drives me nuts when I do it, all through SupCom I called mass points metal from my years of playing TA. Now from my years of SupCom I call metal spots in PA mass. I always correct myself but I can't get out of the habit of doing it. Maybe after I've played PA for a few years I'll stop :p
