Between 64498 and 65588 the weapon of Skitter has been removed. Now if you compare skitter with firefly as pure scouting unit i don't see any utility of the skitter (the firefly cost less, is faster and stronger), check the following quote from pa-db.com : skitter Scout: Weak, fast speed HP: 10 Build cost: 75 metal Physics: Max speed: 25 Acceleration: 360 Braking rate: 250 Turn rate: 360 Recon: Vision radius: 200 Firefly Scout: Weak anti-land laser, fast speed HP: 20 Build cost: 60 metal Physics: Max speed: 90 Acceleration: 180 Braking rate: 90 Turn rate: 180 Recon: Vision radius: 200 I think it should be better to re add the weapon to the skitter : Damage: 5.0 DPS: 5 damage every 1.00
I agree, readd. The benefit of the firefly should be that it can fly and scout anywhere, the drawback that it's very weak and can't attack. The benefit of the Skitterer should be the it can do some light harassment (not as good as a dox since it's a scout not a combat unit) to make up for the fact that it's slower and stuck on ground. Seems balanced to me.
Naval scout is more annoying than fireflies and skitters were pre nerf. Fireflies could be killed by hummingbirds, other fireflies, stingers, and doxen, all things that you'd build early game and that were fast enough to assist in time. Landed and unmicro'd ones could also be reclaimed. Skitters could be reclaimed by fabbers easily and were massacred by doxen. Who builds orcas or narwhals straight away from their naval fac? They have a long build time and are slow as well. It was next to impossible to keep your fabbers defended from sunfishes early game. Skitter needs a mechanic change.
