PALauncher not running

PA launcher does not start. In the start bar and the processes he appears, but it is not displayed on the desktop to load launcher to the game.

Operating system: Windows 8.1 x64
Latest drivers are installed

Have the operating system reinstalled. previously ran the Launcher without problems.

Must something be installed so that the launcher appears?
VC 2012 redistributable for x86 is insatlled

For some reason, on some machines - it seems to be windows 8 / 8.1 most notably, there appears to be a problem running the new launcher.

Try running this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 and let me know if it works post install. I think there might be a version mismatch for the one directX dependency we can't remove (Our Coherent UI subsystem in windows specifically).

You might also need to install Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package:

I recommend install both x86 and x64 packages.

installed it, launcher succesfully started, updates wer successful, had a crash on my try of hosting a vs ai sandbox game ... after that managed to do one ..

Reminder, with any new builds, if you have ANY mods and are getting strange crashes, remove them, and add them back one at a time until you determine which mod is out of date. Not always the problem, but quite frequently is.

personaly i generaly don´t use any mods as of yet, but still thx

I have also just installed windows 7 x64. here the same error.
After installation of DirectX, the launcher works at windows 7,
but in windows 8.1 the error still exists.

I have the same error when I execute the new launcher. A black box appears followed by the "PALauncher.exe has stopped working" error window.

I've tried to install the DirectX from your link but a message appeared which said my current version was superior.

Before that, I've had to install the "Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package" to correct the missing msvcp110.dll.

Like I've posted in another thread, I have a special character in my username: "é".

Does that error occur as soon as you try to run it, or only once you try and login?

As soon as I try to run it. And when I've talked about my username, it was my Windows login and not my Uber account. SXX said the launcher could have a problem with the appdata directory of a user with special characters in his name.
