Hi all, I have not been following the development process at all. Would someone be so friendly to give me a really quick overview? Specifically Kickstarter set a few goals: Primary Goal Naval Units and Water Planets Gas Giants and Orbital Units Metal & Lava Planets Galactic War Full Orchestral Score As far as I am informed, up to now only the Primary Goal is included in the Game. So many unit and planet types as well as the score are still to be done? Regards utack
Score is completely done, and in the game. metal and lava planets are as well. Naval units are in, water planets technically are, but they are experimental, and cannot currently be played on. Orbital units are in too. Gas giants are not yet. Galactic war is being worked on at the moment, and we are due for an update SOONtm. Hope that helps!
To be slightly more in-depth on that, metal and lava planets and naval aren't complete yet. Pathing on metal planets needs work, lava planets need some more love for the visuals and naval needs submarines to be complete.
well sure they're not done, but same goes for most of the rest of the game. They are currently ingame however.
I know, like I said, just being more in-depth. Also the way you worded it, "Score is completely done, and in the game. Metal and lava planets are as well." could be taken the wrong way.
Yes, various levels of completion, but most are in on a fundamental level. Metal and lava planets are mostly fine, all biomes could get additions tbh. Naval and water planets are possible, I know I have seen planets with full on water at a water level of 60, and I am not sure submarines are necesary but more naval units would be nice. Orchestra recording was done, but with the capturing more can still be done to build and use audio in-game. Generally, the game and it's main features are done but leave room for further development. Some more, some less. It is those refining steps that gamma is supposed to be about, still some bugs but sadly the bugs came with heavy feature addition so they weren't beta bugs mostly.
Have you tried it as of late? The stable is fairly stable, the PTE is pretty ahead but suffers some bugs. Still a lot of work to go but it feels like one can always come up with new things the game should have added.
Only today.. I was waiting for a stable release, but now I could not wait any more and gave it a try.
Ah. Idk, I play this game heavily, but with other game, I will skip like 4 builds at a time. Such as Kerbal and RenX and such. Doesn't hurt to try stable and t2 is stronger in it, and PTE is experimental and t2 is more expensive and less powerful but the game plays the same overall minus the t2 rush and exploit, same spread-build style of play. The only reason besides that to play would be to input on anything you don't understand in-game or any graphical errors you get on either build.
