    I'm betting it's to pave the way for our next type of nuke the TRUE interplanetary nuke. ;)

    Meta seemed open to the idea of an orbital Nuke Launcher for inter-system nuclear warfare. So....*Rumor scuffle-scuffle,*

    true enough. there's a caveat to everything, i suppose.

    on the other hand, this development DOES allow us to assault planets wholesale with a nuclear spearhead. even if the place you're trying to crack has anti-nukes, there's a decent chance the rest of the planet - and thus, the orbital units strewn about it - does not. afterwards, all one needs is to plop down an anchor, a teleporter, and BOOM. let the invasion begin.

    on the other side of THAT coin, it also means the defending player can nuke your invading orbitals. but a nuke fired at orbital invaders is a nuke that could have been fired at the enemy planet.
