    Yeah but it's this approach to balancing that has us playing broken builds for the last year. Same thing happens every build. It's annoying for me and why people don't play as much as before.

    I'm not saying that this on its own can will break the build, the build looked great last time I played it. These may seem like little tweeks but they hurt the game. Maybe the devs just don't see how this stops air first, or maybe they want it this way. I don't know how they think or their plan. I just say what I think.

    Let's say you are testing a half built car. Would you complain that the quality of the experience is sub-par while knowing that the car is unfinished and still under construction?
    This is the case for too much people here.

    The damage is 150. Scamper tanks and spinners will survive one bomb.

    Well I got a working car a year ago knowing it wasn't going to be perfect and would be end of the year. 4 months later still unfinished and they make my car a convertible. Op in summer useless in winter.

    I'm not complaining that the car is late and unfinished. Just that it's not so fun to drive a convertible in 8 degrees and rain.

    You can't sell a car unless it's finished.

    Planetary Annihilation is not in a finished state.

    His analogy was fine, I understood his point. If you going to be nitpicky I could argue that it is possible to sell an unfinished car as I have bought a couple.

    "Another?" The stinger was clearly way better than the spinner before, and the spinners low speed means they'll slow down expanding engineers or trail behind and leave them vulnerable. Also, with a couple of anti-air units, a bomber wouldn't even get to drop anything anyway so the HP boost won't do anything. Also, cost.. I'd rather have 3 fabbers with stingers than 2 fabbers with spinners and a lone fabber with no AA.

    Of course, theory crafting, but going to be testing soon :)

    This kind of statement, especially based on just looking at the numbers, is just a plain "I don't want to understand how this whole development process works" to me.

    As custard has said I was wrong. I mixed up stinger and spinner. I thought they had increased hp on the stinger. It's very easy to see problems by looking at the numbers if you know how the units interact with one another and if you remember their names. Maybe it's not so easy for some people but usually works out for me.

    I'm still able to see the clearing caused by enemy commander spawns at the start of the game. I think this really needs to get fixed before forest fires make it into the live build.

    I'm also having trouble 'loading' the virtual textures after a forest fire (texture resolution of the ground is very low unless the camera is left alone for up to 10 seconds), which I strongly suspect is related to the number of decals created by the fires. Since trees are rather densely packed and since the current decals are small and dot-like (especially when viewed from afar), would it not make sense to change the decal to a larger, more gradual one that only appears with say 1/10 probability? Or perhaps use a system that creates spaced out ash decals like the regular biome decals, which appear and are subsequently replaced by more and more intense ones as more trees burn over them?

    I dunno, just trying to come up with something that might help with texture loading (fewer decals) and with the look of charred terrain (less spoty, more gradual charring).

    I still don't know how to use bomb bots.
    I thought that I read on the notes that they were fixed on one of the first PTE builds.
    Is anyone else having trouble with an area attack with them?

    This is what you encounter when you play a game that is still in development. You can have a consistent build for a month or two at a time, but only rarely see new features come online, or you can have more frequent builds, and recognize that you're not going to build lifelong deep intuitive understanding of the balance until the game is, ya know, done. Either way, actually, you won't be able to do that. Not until we're done. If it's annoying you, it's possible the early access concept is the wrong time to be playing?

    Also, broken is relative (not saying things haven't been broken - it's the nature of software development to fix 20 things, and 2 new features, and create 20 more bugs).

    In his defense, I could get units mixed up all day. I didn't when I read this build, I thought they were finally giving the spinner some role instead of it being the newbie brother of the stinger.

    If I got it confused, I would have posted a Planetside2 style rage post about how the stinger was OP before and asking how they could have the clear conscience to buff it even more? Do they not weep for the death of millions of puppies? ...Then I would have noticed they didn't buff an OP unit and I got them mixed, and would have apologized lol.

    I don't get it. Raevn's post said "AA missile vehicle". You can't mix that up unless you forget what a vehicle is or you just don't read attentively.
